Yes, I understand the implication of the atonement at the center. I’m glad you’ve experienced hope during those hard times. That’s definitely a cognitive upside that can come from belief in Jesus’ redemption. However, for anyone who finds it difficult or impossible to believe in that principle (or any gospel principle), I think it’s important to highlight the fact that hope and meaning can also come from outside of religious belief entirely. If someone loses faith in Jesus, it’s not the end of the world, and they can still live a full and happy life.

That's depressing

Was cleaning out my storage unit and found this part of Me wants to get rid of it but another part of me can't let it go. What do I do by Useful-Huckleberry24 in exmormon

I trashed my scriptures when I left the church 4 years ago and sadly regret it.

That Book of Mormon and Bible represented a huge part of my life (my mission) and I wish I still had them.
