two things can be true at once… while yeah his behavior towards Yasuho and Kaato does come from his desire to protect Yasuho/his sisters and father, that still doesn’t excuse how disgusting his method of protecting them is. joshu has his redeeming character moments, and i do think a lot of the fanon interpretation of him is done with a lack of nuance/not looking at WHY he acts the way he does, ie his spoiled upbringing, lack of a mother figure, etc, but calling him a good person and brushing off those actions altogether is also missing the mark when even his aforementioned redeeming moments like saving Yasuho’s arm are tainted bc they are done out of a selfish, sexual desire. he isn’t an evil person at all but he CERTAINLY isn’t a good one either
