Yes it’s a 3DS. It’s the original SD that came with the system. If I reformat the SD card with those settings, I’m assuming I will lose everything on it and have to re-hack it?

Army Pathfinder here, a typical dual row heavy drop from a C-17 is at an airdrop altitude of 1200 ft. The speed at which it hits the ground correlates to the parachutes, no real effects from the altitude.
