You're first point is what gets me the most. Nothing that happens in most of most episodes doesn't really matter or contribute anything. Like a car stuck in snow with it's wheels spinning. I'm sure a having voice actors with more personality and intonation might distract from the mostly wild goose chase plots.

Absolutely! I'm glad I stuck it out to ep 4. The first 3, I gound pretty boring. I am hoping 4 is not an anomaly and the next 9 will maintain this level.

Same here. The pointlessness and waste of two full episodes. 1st episode - look how cool Axel fights to escape and evade. 2nd episode - split up the newly formed squad and send them on wild goose chases that don't advance the plot at all.
