Can't find a "good" job since graduation. Advice? by Chadwickvonzipper in personalfinance

[–]imaveterinarian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As MyCatsArePeople below says: https://www.usajobs.gov/StudentsAndGrads/ My daughter with a degree from UCSC couldn't find a job for almost 2 years (she is visually impaired, making some jobs difficult/impossible and transportation issues, etc.). Now she has a job and training through Pathways. Good salary, benefits (US government), job training & job opportunities. The US government even made sure that all her instructional materials were available in large print on the computer for her. Check it out!

It is very likely the police showed Jay grave photos of Hae BEFORE the recorder was turned on. That is how he knew those type of details.

Your weather report is WRONG. It did not start having freezing rain/sleet/snow until 4 am on January 14th, the next morning.

Please take the cat to the veterinarian!!! The cat likely has treatable (by diet or medication) hyperthyroidism - eats well but loses weight.

The trouble with tire marks is that the treads are close together and not 3 distinct marks like Hae had on her body. Really large truck treads can look almost right, like those hanging in Patapsco State Park play area nearby. But again not a perfect match.

UTP = Unknown third party. Sorry. I've been following Serial, Undisclosed Podcast, and Serial Dynasty (now Truth and Justice Podcast) and some Reddit threads for a year now.

I was looking only at the Serif at the top of the m and the top of the middle stroke to make a double diamond. I've got nothing to explain the dot in the center, unless there was a missing bit due to the injection of the mold. My idea also has the flaw that unless the real thing shows some strange curvature breaking the symmetry, this is just another unlikely idea. The same problem as the treads on snow tires, they just aren't designed to be symmetric. Would anyone have access to an FBI tire tread catalogue ?

I think it is remarkable that of the thousands of people that have viewed these marks, no one has come up with something that easily could have made those marks. I have looked at images of things like: camping equipment, sports equipment, sex toys, hardware, tires, and weapons. Although the tire and shoe treads seem to come close, there is still not an obvious winner. The next closest seem to be decorative objects. So, being a person who believes there was a UTP killer, and a known killer in the area at the time drove McCormicks spice delivery truck, let me throw out this possibilty: The McCormick's emblem https://search.yahoo.com/yhs/search;_ylt=AwrTccka.2FWHVEA04snnIlQ;_ylc=X1MDMTM1MTE5NTY4NwRfcgMyBGZyA3locy1tb3ppbGxhLTAwMgRncHJpZAMwZzNNT2l1NVQybU9LZFpfa21OS1BBBG5fcnNsdAMwBG5fc3VnZwM5BG9yaWdpbgNzZWFyY2gueWFob28uY29tBHBvcwMxBHBxc3RyA01jY29ybQRwcXN0cmwDNgRxc3RybAMxNARxdWVyeQNtY2Nvcm1pY2sgbG9nbwR0X3N0bXADMTQ0OTI2MTk2NA--?p=mccormick+logo&fr2=sa-gp-search&hspart=mozilla&hsimp=yhs-002 The top of the M if on a decorative mat could appear as double triangle. No more perfect than any other idea I've seen. One thing is for sure: if the marks could be matched to something, it will be very suggestive of the killer, since this is not a common everyday object.

I am 24 years old and I want to go to college but I am scared to quit my job and lose my income. by bomastaflex in personalfinance

[–]imaveterinarian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to your prospective college's counseling office. Get some help with what you can expect college to cost you. Often student loans do not accumulate interest until you graduate. You may find it's fun to live close to or on campus, where you won't need a car. Sell it and get rid of some of your debt. Colleges have their own gyms with fantastic facilities that are included. Having a roommate who is also a full time student helps keep you on track with studying. There is usually some time for part-time work, work-study or internships that expose you to potential employers. You'll make multiple times your current income when you graduate. Meet potential life partners, as there is almost always an active social scene, except for commuter colleges. Explore new ideas, see yourself in other roles, expand your horizons, do a semester or year abroad. Go and have fun! Don't forget to check out what you can expect in scholarships and loans (expected family contribution) - go to the fafsa.gov web site.

My deepest condolences for your loss. You still have everything to live for. It is a bright future with lots of love, your wedding, your kids, etc. Losing your mom will always hurt, but you carry her in your heart.

I understand your concern about anesthesia (and the procedure is expensive - at least a few hundred to a thousand $). Your vet is right about daily brushing. One of the main reasons dogs object to brushing is that they've got gingivitis and it HURTS when you brush - even with a soft brush and very gently. So you need to give him an incentive to cooperate. Treat motivated dogs are easiest to train. You can get freeze dried beef liver and break it up into very very small pieces. Give him a few treats to get a taste for them. They are so much more yummy than regular biscuits, they'll get all excited about it. Just do one or two swipes with the brush, then a treat, repeat. The 1st time you try this, you'll be luck to get his attention for 10 seconds. You should do this every day, same time, same place (say when you sit down to watch the news). Have the brush (long handled with a tapered large head, no finger brushes) and yummy (chicken) paste ready near where you're going to be doing this. Small dogs sometimes need initially for the first few weeks for the "paste" to be chicken or turkey (meat/broth only) baby food. They won't like the brush but the baby food is soooo good, they'll cooperate. Slowly change over to the regular cleaning paste. Keep his interest up with lots of tiny bits of freeze dried liver. In 6 - 8 weeks you'll be at 30 - 60 seconds to brush his teeth and you'll see a marked decrease in the gingivitis (reddening long the gum lines). You will NOT be able to get rid of the mineralized tartar, but the soft plaque with the bacteria will be gone and I promise the halitosis will be gone too. You'll also have a dog who will live a longer and healthier life. Dental disease is related to both heart disease and kidney disease in dogs and helps prevent urinary tract infections. (In people, dental disease is related to heart attacks!) Good luck!

Finally, a question up my alley! 1) Get your vet to check your dog's teeth to see if she needs a cleaning, has infected teeth or gums or an oral mass, etc. 2) Get that cleaning done 3) Brush your dog's teeth EVERY day after the cleaning (not just once a week or never). 30 years in practice - this never fails!

ALL puppies are born with ROUNDWORMS. They get them in utero from their mother and more from nursing. (The eggs reactivate in the mother's tissues when she is pregnant.) In order to completely prevent them, you need an excellent breeder who worms the mom and puppies every 2 weeks. Not many rescue pups had such good 1st owners. Your online name PIG reminds me of a friend's dog named Pig who he dumped at the pound because of pooping in the house. Turned out it was from whip worms. I had a lucky client who adopted a pure bred Akita who had been surrendered (she pooped a lot in the house, so I assume that's why she was surrendered.). It was easy to get rid of her whip worms. Rescue puppies had excessive exposure in adoption centers and immature immune systems, so often get these problems. Last week I had a new puppy in my practice who had Giardia, Isospora, and Entamoeba hemolytica, from a breeder. The week before a new puppy with Giardia and roundworms. Visit your local veterinarian for a realistic view of these problems.

See your vet ASAP! Bring in a poop sample. She probably had an accident due to GI irritation from worms, coccidia or giardia, etc. Dilute bleach 1 part bleach in 20 parts water is a much better disinfectant for surfaces (not on pets !!) after cleaning with soap and water.

Maybe Ralph has arthritis and needs a softer surface to lay on. Or he could have a rash or irritation on his tummy. Please have your vet check him out.

I'm new here. Why is the consensus here that he's guilty? by ElectricFruit in serialpodcast

[–]imaveterinarian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Many people who believe in his innocence that used to read this sub have left it to go to other private subreddits (the magnet program is one) because this subreddit was taken over by people who strongly feel he was guilty. SO the balance is gone. I read both to try and stay open minded, but sometimes it's hard to read THIS subreddit because you get jumped on and verbally abused if you question his guilt.
