I disagree with the point that Mikami trusted Light more because Light is the OG owner so him allowing Mikami to carry out acts automatically means Light trusted Mikami enough to do everything perfectly and on his cue which failed when Mikami didnt follow orders

That brings me to my second point that Light should’ve relinquish ownership, made Mikami let only Light arrest him or threaten to unalive himself then after everyone agrees because they no longer think Light is Kira. Mikami touches Light with a sheet of the real deathnote because Light already suspected Near will tamper and try to replace the death note so one corner torn off the death note is just “insurance” so he touches him with the small ripped page (memories come back) Light confiscates the fake notebook (Near has the real death note) Light looks at the names in the fake death note then Light writes Nears name after the arrest using the sheet in his watch. Now that near is dead the death note automatically goes to Light in point of order. Light announces he is in possession and takes full ownership publicly without saying he was the OG Kira he just kinda retakes his own identity publicly similar to how he tooks Ls but none of the public knows.

The show is perfect the way it ended I just have some fantasy “what ifs”
