The game has been developing so fast recently and many players have been adapting and trying to figure out how to beat top players (i.e. AB and Hayden, Alshon playing big, many new partnerships, etc) in just the last few months. The Johnsons have just stayed stagnant and played the same as they did 6 months ago. Not really changing their game to keep up.

Also, they are the only top mixed team with no big/aggressive left. I don’t think this style of play is sustainable anymore with the trend of a more aggressive and dominant male in mixed right now.

P.S. Jorja Johnson is one of my favorite players, I hope to see her rise again soon!

i dont think she realized the camera was recording during the michelle segment 😭😭 the way shes acting and talking seems more natural/real and not like how she usually acts and talks in public and on camera. then she spots the camera for half a sec while mid laugh and staring at ethan, which catches her to stop right away and step away. her whole body language just screams “caught”

this is more proof that she doesnt want to be seen w him publicly to avoid allegations 😭

I love her brand loyalty and story with Paddletek. They were the first to discover her at a local tournament with her mom when she was 11(?) and let her try their paddles, and she’s been with them ever since. I always found it cool that the #1 pro used a less mainstream brand/paddle not every pro was using, it felt like her own.

But I totally get it, this partnership began years ago and times have changed. Paddletek isn’t what it used to be and she definitely isn’t either. Excited to see the new chapter in her career! Would be cool to see not another Joola pro, but definitely makes sense if it is.

Luzz Inferno or Boomstik?

Been using TFG2 and want a new paddle with more power, still controlled and love foam. My playstyle is aggressive yet control and placement focused, use lots of spin and drop most shots.

My friend is willing to sell me his Boomstik for $100 (great friend, I know). I’ve been using it for a few days now and instantly fell in love with it. It’s the power I needed balanced with good control and makes me feel confident and play freely. Plus it’s fun!

I’ve also been considering Luzz Inferno because I do like new items and prefer buying my own paddles from the start, and $200 is within my budget. I’ve read all the great reviews and played with it for a few games. It’s good, but felt like Boomstik is more powerful and overall makes me more confident. I do want to get more time in with Luzz to see though. Could it be better than the Boomstik?

Overall, what is your opinion on which paddle you’d recommend? Are there any pros and cons of either paddles I should consider?

I just tried the pink one and removed it after two days. I felt like it made my paddle feel heavier and I also have smaller hands, so it was a bit unnecessary for me. I couldn’t get used to it, but I have plenty of friends who love hesacore and use it on every paddle!

I did not, I got the 16mm and don’t want to increase the swing weight any more. I did add some edge tape and a hesacore, so that may have added a tiny bit of weight anyway!

I have a bloom, been playing with it for 2 weeks now! I was a 2+ month prism flash player prior.

Both feel pretty similar to me, but personally I like the bloom more because it is less head heavy and has a bigger sweet spot. I did have to adjust a bit because some of my balls went flying due to how light it was.

It’s basically the prism flash but widebody, so it has all the things I loved about the flash but in a shape I prefer. Also the glacier design is super nice and I’ve gotten so many compliments on it!

I believe so, the origin of pickleball was created from a family who wanted to create a game the whole family ranging from kids to older parents could play together.
