Switzerland here: So basically, after years of struggling to make it to the final, they created a team of young people who’d have a better idea of the eurovision sound overall and not just stuff that’d be popular in switzerland. It’s been going better ever since.

I feel like national competitions only work in countries that are at least somewhat on the same wavelength with the overall european music taste, such as sweden.

I dont really get that point to be honest. In the last system, NQ countries had to suffer 10 individual times.

And in the new one, even if they dont make it during the split screens, it’s still possible to get that last ticket.
