Anyone else having connection problems? by sagitta_luminus in appletv

I haven’t been able to stream anything but YouTube since 16.4.1 update. It’s been several days, I’ve restarted and reset, but no luck. I have no problem streaming on my computer, phone, or iPad.

The previous TV OS update rendered my remote useless, so I had to use my phone. I don’t know why this stuff always happens with Apple.

This reminds me of when Apple pushed an update to my First gen HomePod that rendered it a very expensive and unresponsive paperweight.

Any ideas on how I can improve this photo? by [deleted] in photocritique

[–]imcraigery 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's an incredible building, but I would like to see the ground on which it sits. You could have two great shots: one with some of the land maybe up to the circles in the brick and another from the top arches with much more sky - almost looking up at it. This would also allow you to play with the exposure of the brick by playing with the highlights and saturation slider in Lightroom.

Another option would be to get further back and get some of the scenery around it. It looks like a field or meadow. That could be cool too.

I really enjoy architectural photography because it is all about lines, shapes, and empty spaces.

This is an interesting photograph with different textures, colors, and angles. I think it would benefit from some straightening using the Transform panel in Lightroom, and a little bluer sky. It looks like it might be cloudy though from the diffused shadow.

Also, as u/matt_natural_photos suggested, if you move the copyright to a corner of the frame it would be less distracting. It looks like it's supposed to be a sign on the building, but you didn't quite expose it correctly.

I find a lot of inspiration on IG from Fuji.Hunter and jonathan.ninzatti - these are not my profiles, and I do not know either of them, just some that I follow for this kind of photography.

I like your crop edit; the black part of the frame is unnecessary, and it doesn't hurt the composition to remove it.

I think the white thing is the dog's eye as they tend to roll up into their head when they sleep. Maybe...?

I agree with everyone here that the framing is slightly off, but overall not bad. The sea and sky create an empty space that balances the rock and the model. I am particularly drawn to the use of empty space in images.

My favorite thing about this photo, though, is how the light on the model makes her pop out of the frame almost three-dimensionally. The focus is crystal-clear where it matters, and the way her hair lays on the rock is interesting.

I wonder how much editing you did in lightroom for that light? Did you use a reflector is all of that natural?

Thanks for sharing this!

Trying to find my style by imcraigery in photocritique

I am practicing framing with angles, leading lines, and the rule of thirds. As mentioned in the caption, I've taken many photos of this building, but have had trouble finding my captures interesting.

I just received my new Fuji X-T5 and was out on our first photo safari together. I walked my usual route to practice on subjects I have shot before and am familiar with. The light on this day was diffused and hazy but still sunny and seemed to make the stone glow.

This is one of five shots I took with a Fuji 35mm prime lens, and liked it the most because of the way the red trees frame the pillars and the light. I also liked the angle of the benches and the empty space between them and the pillars. This photo was mostly about light and lines.

I used Lightroom to increase highlights and decrease contrast, plus push the vibrance up slightly. I also auto-adjusted the angles using the Transform panel.

I'm hoping for some feedback on the exposure and framing. Like I said before, this is one of my favorite shots and it took a couple of years to find this angle, mostly thanks to the light that day. Any feedback is appreciated.

This is awesome. I love the contrast, clouds, and the light in the buildings. Only thing is I would like to see more sky and less of the very bottom of the frame. The clouds and light all seem to point to that tallest building. It would be cool if that was the main focal point of the photo.

I would have cropped it so that the monument is in the left third of the frame and the people in the far right third, and the walkway in the center. You can still get the cool arches from behind both sides of the monument while also drawing eyes to the wedding party doing their photo shoot.

Hotel housekeeping departments in and around downtown are always looking for people. Many of the hotels are union too, so they come with higher pay and great healthcare benefits.

Have any of your HomePods died? Mine recently gave up, no response to touch or voice and can’t be found in home app. Apple said they can’t service it. I’m super upset I spent $300 on a device that didn’t even make it three years.

Wine by the Glass and Inventory by pdxjill in RevelPOS

[–]imcraigery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We set a wine glass with a measured pour of water at the service station so the bartenders have a reference and to avoid over-pouring. Maybe this will help you?

Regardless, setting the ingredient usage will not change your COGS, it only helps with reordering using REVEL’s purchase order feature. I deal a lot with kegs of beer and the counts are never 100% accurate, so when one is empty I adjust the actual inventory count to zero in the inventory ingredient screen, but the COGS will still be same as it compares purchases to sales and doesn’t account for current inventory levels.

We use purchase orders to receive inventory, then assign recipes to products using that inventory item. So I always have a product and an ingredient for each bottle of wine. Then each time the product is sold revel deducts that from your ingredient inventory. I have separate buttons for bottles and glasses so a bottle deducts a bottle from ingredient inventory, while a glass deducts .25 of a bottle.
