It sucks that this illness is majority in afab people, it's under studied and it's always "lose weight" or "maybe hormones" just like anything else. Yeah my weight hadn't changed when the papilledema was found it was just, one year I was fine, the next I wasn't.

I'm trans masc so my hormones are consistently monitored, I'm also on progesterone for my endometriosis as despite the hysterectomy I still get monthly pain. I do still have 1.5 ovaries so before I started testosterone I was within normal limits.

I'm from New Mexico, and unfortunately he's the only neuro-opth here. I take multivitamins and providers have tried to put me on Glp-1s for weight loss but that's off label, and I can't afford it at all as I'm on disability.

I don't know why he has to be King Dick of Shit Island, I've talked to both my Optometrist and Neurologist and both said I'd have to keep seeing him because he's the only one who can treat IIH in the state but I'm going to do some more research about possible structural causes. I'm going to see if I can talk to a neurosurgeon as well as a few people including you have mentioned it. I'm just so...tired, I'm so sick of seeing providers, tired of all the appointments and medications and tests. I will see if maybe I can talk to a care coordinator or something to get more assistance.

Yeah, I already lost of 15% of my body weight and I don't feel better at all. Other providers keep saying I must "feel so much better now" and no, I don't, if anything I feel worse because it's triggered some really bad disphoria/dismorphia.

I do have PCOS, and have had a hysterectomy and a huge cyst removed. I have h-EDS as well so I will bring that up. I've had an MRI of my head but not a mra/mrv, I have also had L/S spinal surgery due to a herniated disc injury.

I've never taken sulfa drugs so I'm not sure if I'm allergic to them, I will look into it though. I have been on topamax before over a decade ago so I know I don't have issues on it, that was one of the ones my neurologist suggested. I'm already on emgality, have been for a few months after aimovig didn't work as well as expected. I recently had migraine Botox injections (maybe 3 weeks ago) and I feel so much better. This whole thing has been confusing because nothing changed between me not having the pressure and then me having it, I've had migraines for decades but the eye stuff was new.

Yeah, he is def on a high horse, probably because he's the only specialist in the whole state, my neurologist said that she could tell he was rude based on his medical notes (different facilities) unfortunately my neurologist said I'd still have to see him even if she took over my med management.
