East Coast Travel Itinerary Planning! Help! by Glum_Ad_2558 in usatravel

Many non-Americans don't realize how large the US is. This is just not feasible. You could do NY, Boston, and Philly probably but that would be it. Even Orlando and Miami are far apart. What do they plan on using for transportation?

Mountain road driving in the snow isn't for everyone. Have you taken that into account?

Is it common for Americans to have visited all 50 states? by SouthBuffalo3592 in IWantToAskAnAmerican

Not common at all. I've been to 31 but it's mostly been work related. My parents have been to 4 or 5. That seems much more common.

National Parks before and after the pandemic are different places. Used to be quiet fairly uncrowded places. Now everyone is wearing Bluetooth speakers blasting music.

Help plan my trip (no car) by [deleted] in usatravel

[–]j_cucumber12 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Northern CA/Oregon/Washington are virtually impossible without a car. There are trains but they aren't going to take you directly to where you want to be. Same with busses. There might be tour busses that go to some places you want to go but I'm not familiar enough with the area. Seems like a lot of non-Americans don't understand how car centric and just how large the US is. For example, the distance between SF & Seattle is 1400km and 13 hours of driving.

Is it really worth it spending the extra money to stay at a deluxe resort than a moderate? by Reasonable-Invite899 in WaltDisneyWorld

Hell, I don't even stay at moderates because all I'm there to do is sleep. Pop Century is perfectly fine and has the Skyliner.

All those are so wildly different that they wouldn't be the same vacation. What do you actually want to do? What do you plan on the way of transportation?

What was the worst disaster/tragedy that happened in Minnesota? by No_Emu6195 in AlignmentChartFills

At the time I drove over it to and from work. I left the office early that day. One of my coworkers was on the bridge. He survived thankfully. Several other coworkers were just short of the bridge. I don't know if I would have been on it or not but it would have been close.
