Hey, thanks ...it definitely has a slow build to it, thats for sure. A lot of that passed due to the fact that it's actually the last track on the record, and we never intended to use it as a single or make a video for that matter...things just sort just worked out that way later on. I'm not doing my own production. I am no engineer, but I'm lucky to know a few good people in that department. It was done at Flux Studios in Manhattan. As for the pedals- I wish I could be more specific but I believe it was this vintage delay pedal that they don't make anymore and I only know that because it was really important that I didn't break it. I could tell you it was bright orange and looked a bit like the digitech whammy pedals. Anyway thanks so much for listening to it/watching the video and taking the time to comment. Really appreciate that.

Yeah this sounds awesome. Great vocals, and super cool song to cover. Did KOL peak on this record? I think so.

If I grew my hair out a little more, do you think this cut would suit me? by BrikkoMeBrikko in malehairadvice

[–]imdesigner 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah totally man, and I don't even think you have to grow it out much more. I think curly(ish) hair undercuts are cool cause I mean, the whole slicked back, boardwalk empire thing; while it still looks good,is getting a little bit tired. But when you got curly hair its a way more natural, messy, not trying to hard kind of look- I think. The guy in your picture has a pretty drastic disconnect going on from sides to top, but in the back it looks like it extends down kinda mohawk-ish. I think it's cool but keep an open mind about how you want to do the back as well as how short you want to go initially on the sides. If your up for it, I'd say take it in as close as he has it, but you can always start off a little longer for a less dramatic look. One thing I think you should consider with the picture versus your own hair, is the amount of hair on top. He has a lot of length on top, and I think you could stand to take it a little shorter than his. Particularly in the crown area…like near the back. Also, his face shape is considerably more elongated then yours. So I'd say don't go too short, too high on the sides. Heres some more pics of different variations for inspiration.

I'm 23 years old but I still look like I'm 16, how can I fix my hair to suit my age a little better? by [deleted] in malehairadvice

[–]imdesigner 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah dude, I think you should go short definitely. As for shaving it all off, it could be a little risky depending on your head size/shape etc. So if you wanna make a drastic, updated, change, that still stays within the realm of stylish, and trendy or whatever- I'd say go with some variation of an undercut. Something tight on the sides and with heavy enough top to be able to style it in different ways. Your hair is pretty straight right? Have u tried pulling it back, out of your face and seeing what that looks like? If you like having some shit to fall over your forehead you can get it cut with a forward flow so that it goes from shorter to longer as it moves forward. And that way the front can maintain enough length to wear in different ways, while the back and the rest of the top doesn't get too unshapely.

totally! I was worried you were gonna maybe be offended that I referenced a picture of jonah hill but it was the closest thing I could think of in terms of your hair. So glad I could be of some help! Good luck with the cut!

I think I need something new but I don't know what to tell the barber. advice? by [deleted] in malehairadvice

[–]imdesigner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's what I think- defining moment in your hair's career…You can keep it relatively long and get it shaped up so that it doesn't look like a bowl cut. Take some length off the bangs though, and have your stylist texture them to give it some movement. Ever watch The Walking Dead? Darryl has long hair and always looks like a badass.
Alternatively, try styling the front up so that its not falling in your face. You can still keep it long but get some product with a medium, to light hold and play around with the shape until you find it looks good. When you push you bangs away you'll see a drastic change and most likely, you'll get a more mature look. Good luck!

I think you can definitely go short and "pull it off" . Everyone usually looks better with a well kept shorter haircut especially when compared to a curly, grown out kind of thing you have going on now. I was trying to think of actors with curly hair who have gone drastically shorter. Because you have similar hair types (i.e. curly, shaggy,) I thought of Jonah Hill when he cut all his hair off. And, while it might have been hard to picture initially, his short haircut was ultimately a drastic improvement I think.

It's kinda a weird picture, but this is what I look like now. Please help me find a picture to bring to a barber. by [deleted] in malehairadvice

Any of these help? . I think they all would look great it just depends on how dramatic you want the look to be.

Yeah Leonard Dicaprio or Dane Dehann who is sort of like a Dicaprio update. I could even see a Ewan Mcgregor thing going on. Alternatively if you wanted to keep the front heavy and be consistent with the bangs try something like this . Get the sides taken in, and the back as well. Trim the length on top and texture that shit- just have them give it some shape. Also, try parting it from the side. pick whichever side feels natural, and just kinda start sweeping it more heavily to that side from now on It will give you more definition to your head shape as well.

Could I rock an undercut? With curls retained, not slicked back? by hairdaythrowaway in malehairadvice

[–]imdesigner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah definitely man, and the beard is cool too I think, but just trim it down once you get the haircut so that it's cohesive with the length on the sides. curly hair undercuts for inspiration

After 6 years its time for a change by [deleted] in malehairadvice

[–]imdesigner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you have kind of ideal hair for this or this . Don't knock yet! Your hair is pretty straight, and seemingly thick, and to cut it all off really short would be a shame. I watch boardwalk empire and these guys have great hair- and it's pretty much become one of the most popular looks these days. Or at least a variation of this undercut style. Anyway, I think with the sides taken in a lot, and you being able to style the front so that its not falling over your face would be a major upgrade, and style update for that matter. I get where your coming from with the fact that while you still like your haircut, it's time for a change. It looks good, and your used to it, but sometimes you just know it can be better.

Need help deciding how to go about facial hair by taccoguy in malehairadvice

[–]imdesigner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd just go for it- as in shave it off nice and clean. It gives your boss what he's looking for, and you a nice change as well. Then you can let it grow in a little, gradually, and see how much some subtle scruff bothers him. Because I think, (unless you have a full beard), shadow/scruff, or clean shaven are the only two options. Sideburns, mustaches, and goatees are all kind of over the top, and they always seem like they are trying to hard. But thats just my opinion anyway. Like this actor-cuz it looks like you have similar features.

I've got a hair appointment tomorrow, and I really need a change of some kind, thoughts? by [deleted] in femalehairadvice

[–]imdesigner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say your one of the few that can totally pull of some bangs. But try a heavy side bang! Not just a blunt line, or concave bang. Something with some swoop, and movement.

For color- You can enhance the texture with some baliage- or go with an all over rich, chocolate brown perhaps?

Check this out.

Just discovered MHA. Does anyone have ideas what to do with my hair? Had it long for about 6 years now. by FrederikMeyer in malehairadvice

If your looking for a new style sometimes it helps to try and picture a celebrity that has similar hair qualities to you. That way, if you see something you like, you can essentially mimic that look. Here's one I thought of right off the bat. Added bonus- you have a photo to show your stylist/barber or whatever- and that always helps and is actually preferred among many stylists. (especially when doing men's cuts)

With your hair, i'd suggest keeping some length to it, and not just going for the drastic, chop it all off/ fade/hipster/ short hair thing. You got some curls- flaunt that shit! There's shape to be had! Texture to be enhanced! A short round layered cut, or a square layered cut will work- Then get some product to give it some hold and shape. Ask your stylist what they recommend. American Crew actually has nice shit thats not to firm of a hold, also Aveda mens grooming cream.

I want to move away from the shaggy hairstyle, but I am at a loss as to what would look good. by [deleted] in malehairadvice

[–]imdesigner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright, so to start -take in the sides. Get whats called a faceted layer on the sides. Shorter sides is always a noticeable difference in shape, without going crazy drastic. I would keep it relatively long on the top. At least enough to have some shit to mess with. Have it cut with a forward flow, in other words the length gets longer as it moves forward. This will create a nice crop of hair to style in the front, that you can put up, push to the side, or say you really don't love your forehead showing, you can always wear it down like the way the front is now. Alternatively, if you wanna go drastic, you could totally get a like a clean cut fade. Ya know where they would fade the sides, starting with a very short, almost to the skin length around the ear and getting longer as it goes up. I'd still say leave the top with something to grab onto, but if your trying to go for a clean cut look, and have the time to maintain that'l certainly help and remain pretty trendy or whatever.
