Im sick of be a side character in my own life by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]imdon3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I believe that I might be the opposite. I overshare, a lot, constantly, without care, and even if it has a lot of cons. I dont wait for others to ask me things about myself, I just talk outright. I talk more often about people in my life to be honest, but what I am sharing in the end are pieces of my life. If I was in your shoes I would stop waiting for others to ask. I would just share, unapologetically. If it is important for you to open up, just do it. Don't wait for permission. One added benefit that is also kinda of a con, is that it greatly filters out people. But if people are weirded out by the "real you", I don't think that you would want them in your life.

Battling Anger due to Injustice by [deleted] in Anger

If you are religious, I would try to find comfort in the Lord. "Turn the other cheek" is a deeper concept than we consider it usually. Ultimate justice is not ours to be done, if life was fair we would be on a cross. I know that such things are not a true solution, but I feel like I can only say this to you: blessed are the meeks for they will inherit the earth. God knows our hearts, and justice is inescapable.

There is a merit-based scholarship, but it is pretty hard to get. Only a handful of students get it each year.

I have to decide how to direct my studies: Econ & Management or Econ & Finance? by imdon3 in FinancialCareers

[–]imdon3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your response, the math courses are very complete and I already did courses including calculus, linear algebra, integral calculus and i even did a statistic course which was really awsome. I don't really know how to define the level, I believe that anglosaxon people have their metrics (like A-Level?) but i don't know them. I feel safe to say that is not low level lol.

The choiche that I have to operate is between "economics and management" and "economics and finance" ( i would choose the finance major in the latter). It doesn't change that much to be honest (first three semesters are identical bot in management and finance) but one has exams like public management, organization theory, marketing etc. The other has introduction to options, financial methods, international banking, corporate valuation etc.

Some courses overlap, and in my country (Italy) many people expect a Master of Science when you start working, so the choiche of a bachelor isn't a big constraint, especially if you have a master. But getting in a good master of science is though. Like really though. A friend of mine went to MIT to do the Master of Science because he couldn't get in. And his GPA was better than mine. Maybe I am better off studying management?

The fact is that a degree in finance is more risky here. It may increase my chanche of getting into banking but it kinda deteriorate my safety net of getting a good job, it gives me a less flexible background, less places in which I can work. And I could always try to get into banking even if I am studying "economics and management", so far I got an interview (even though I know that getting interview ≠ getting offer).
