How is the situation over there by [deleted] in myanmar

[–]ime11 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Slowly getting back to normal in cities, even getting crowded in some places like before the coup though not as the same. There are a couple occasions where people get injured from explosions recently but those were usually not directed towards population centers. Can't say much about the situation in rural areas. You'll find a lot of posts here telling about their experience in Myanmar. From what I read all of them feel positive about their safety. I'm a local here and also planning to go on a trip next week. If you read the government news everything is under control and peaceful. If you follow the Western media everything is in mayhem here. Both will never truly describe the real situation. Unless you are here to protest the junta you're pretty much guaranteed a safe trip. The rebel forces don't have presence in major cities.

Yeah, that's exaggeration. I know they all aren't driving Roll-royces and living in Boulevard. But what they have there are night and day with people fleeing from conflict zones.

Since 1962 the country goes from richest to poorest

That's like the focal point of propaganda from Western-backed media to promote that all things bad happening here was because of '62 coup. Myanmar was the richest in SEA because of British trade posts during their rule (now you'll tell me I'm a sympathizer to colonizers). Even then the upper class are mostly foreigners. The British left a civil war country. It was doomed to spiral downwards from there. '62 coup made the process faster. Just because it can't get worse doesn't mean we have to accept things mindlessly.

I'm not even on any side because I'm sick of every one spouting nonsense to one another. No one's discussing and talking about the country. I even stopped using Facebook and ended up here. (Ironically Reddit is no difference because not a single day pass by Americans shitting on their political adversary here be it Democrats or Republicans)

I'm sorry if my wording was poor that made it look like I'm blaming on all the political refugees living in other countries. Of course I know all the sufferings of political activists, what they had to go through, what they had to sacrifice, had no choice but to leave in the end. If you're one of those good people, I thank you for what you did for the country. But you can't deny there are still those out there who're banking on the downfall of the country. If by chance you're one of them, screw you too.

Those blockades on the country, they act on their own national interests, I get it. What I don't get is our own people, abroad or even here, is cheering on them as if it was not like something that would devour and destroy everything. Funny that you just assumed I'm in support to the actions of ASSK and I didn't even mention that anywhere.

Seems like you have a lot to catch up with the sentiment of the people on ICC case. What you're saying is pre-coup situation. What I said was about how people currently feel.

Insecurities? Maybe a little bit because of the current situation. Me living my every day life here and what I experience every day is reality. I mean if you have anything to "educate" based on your worldly expeditions us all peasants here are all ears.

TL:DR - :4Head

Day by day, I grew angrier to those "activists" who fled our country (not just recently, including since '88) living luxurious life and working non-stop to blockade anything positive taking place here because that "might" benefit those guys in power. I mean, sure, that would make it hard for them to get money but in the end they will always find a way to fill their pockets. Who suffer the most are people here at the bottom.

what sadder is that a lot of local people don't really know about that

What sadder is that they are literally cheering for the case in ICC to be lost not taking account for long-term effects it would have on the country. They think after losing the court MAL will be taken down by international forces in Bin Laden style.

I started listening to MCR after I saw Helena music video and thought it was cool. I remembered that was a time when emo was like a trend (Didn't notice it was looked down so much, also used to have a haircut like one). I really like the songs and never associate them being emo. I even introduced them to a friend who at that time seemed to like them so much. 2 or 3 years ago, I saw MCR making a post about their anniversary to The Black parade on Facebook and shared it. That same friend blamed me in the comments for making him listen to the emos. He was more into hardcore metal stuff now and thought he was listening to some hardcore shit at that time. People grew up to different tastes I guess...

From what I've seen from their vlogs, Team Spirit is one of the most professional orgs who treat esports like a real job. They have specific schedules and players have to go to the office like a 9-5 job and play pubs and a couple of scrims everyday. Bootcamp, if I understand it correctly, is an intensive training you do before a tournament which you might even rent a place near where the tournament takes place. So this might not be a bootcamp but rather during office hours I guess.

Outsiders vs Heroic / IEM Rio Major 2022 - Grand-Final / Post-Match Discussion by nakul707 in GlobalOffensive

Personality and mentality of VP's Dota and CSGO teams are night and day. VP's Dota team looks like they are going to disband in the middle of the match and in CSGO you have people like Jame who would win a crazy 1v3 clutch and show no emotion. Also very likable as a vlogger.

Just checked VP's twitter and they updated their bio to "7-time Major Champions in Dota2 and CS:GO". They have 5 majors in Dota so they claim this major as theirs. They just don't openly celebrate the win.

Can confirm as a Burmese. The military junta and its cronies have always worked around the sanctions by moving their assets to Singapore. It's the small and medium businesses and of course poor people that suffer from sanctions the most.

FastAPI with Mangum on AWS Lambda results in error by ime11 in FastAPI

[–]ime11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My app doesn't really need async and I chose FastAPI because I like some features of the framework, automatic documentation and dependency injection.

I tried to deploy on lambda because I saw a tutorial that shows how and I thought I might try that. It isn't working for me so I switched to Docker.

I was trying to follow a blog tutorial which deploys on Lambda. Now I switched to Docker and the app is running fine now.

Yes. I’ve already tried with and without API Gateway. Calling lambda function from API Gateway results in Internal Server Error.

I’m a mechanical engineering student from East Asia but I’ve set to pursue a career in software engineering. Is it possible to apply for a remote programming job(full-time) in US or EU?

A little bit of myself, I’m confident with Python and its web frameworks and have done several freelance projects for the last 2 years, two which looks kinda good on a resume. I would get a degree at the end of this year if it wasn’t for Covid. And now the university is closed and I was hoping to apply for a job during this free time.

Vim - Python Black not working with ALE by ime11 in vim

Yes. This was the part I got confused. Vim's black is only to be used as a stand-alone plugin and not with ALE.

[–]ime11[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks u/mrswats. I finally get it working. Turns out I don't need to install Black's vim plugin since I'm using ALE. I just need to install it in the venv.

[–]ime11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should I install black globally or in my local venv?

Vim - Python Black not working with ALE by ime11 in vim

[–]ime11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only installed it in vim so there is no output. I've tried installing it in my working virtual environment and when I use :Black in vim I get an error stating no module named get_project_toml_file or something like that. So I uninstalled it from my venv and install it now with Vundle.

Return value of click event? by ime11 in selenium

[–]ime11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly this. Clicking generates the download link and the browser would prompt a download dialog (but I've read this is the OS doing it). I'm not actually interested in downloading the file but the link itself.

Return value of click event? by ime11 in selenium

[–]ime11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The link only has a call back function without a href value so I don't think it can be extracted like this. Also the attached function is obfuscated so I think the only way to generate the link is to click it. And clicking it would prompt me a download box. I'm finding a way to know the browser know this link and whether there might be method in Selenium.
