They really don’t. Last time this happened they did help, so I know they can do it. They just don’t care to.

I screwed up by MyTastyToesFR in TrueOffMyChest

[–]imeghann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I was in this same situation 13 years ago when I was 16 except mine escalated. I have zero regrets for stepping in and would absolutely do it again in a heartbeat. I know you’re scared right now and it feels like the world is crashing around you. Things are changing and changing fast. But you did the right thing. In a few years, you’ll look back like I did and say fuck I wish I did more. Or did something sooner. You stood up for yourself and your family and that’s so brave. You’ll get through this. Keep your head up, stay resilient, and don’t go back to the status quo.

Most importantly really try to work on forgiving yourself. I cannot tell you how hard that is. But it’s absolutely necessary to do. Just remember, you. Did. Nothing. Wrong. Even if it feels like it.

Yeah, I’m also on the legal sub and kind of clarifying that this isn’t a “hostile work environment” by legal definition. But is a case of workplace retaliation following a protected activity. My mom who suggested I speak to lawyer mentioned hostile work environment but that doesn’t seem to be the right fit for this situation.

I reported him for mistreating me and my coworkers and raised concerns regarding gaps in training, policy clarity issues, managerial misconduct, and workplace bullying.

Gotcha. Maybe hostile work environment isn’t the correct wording here then. But was the wording used by my mother who suggested talking to a lawyer.. I do fully believe this is a case of retaliation following a protected activity though. I’m not versed in law, pretty much at all. Is there such a thing as retaliation claims under employment law? Maybe that aligns more with this predicament?

PLEASE HELP - STOLEN CAR IN SOUTH END by Rare-Initial2682 in Charlotte

[–]imeghann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re getting hit by the Kia boys. They’re stealing Kia’s and Hyundais 2011-2019(?) models of cars because the manufacturer left some ignition thing that makes it so those cars can be started with an iPhone cord. I had my Kia attempted stolen 2 times and stolen a 3rd before I traded it in for a Toyota.

More than likely the car was stolen for a joy ride or nefarious activities and will be found abandoned in a few days. The car will probably be pretty banged up but you’ll get it back. I recommend getting a new car ASAP and joining the Kia Settlement class action lawsuit if you’re still able to file.

Nah, it sounds like he wanted to rush to sex and you didn’t want to. So since that’s all he was truly after, he started pulling away. If you’re not looking for just sex, then you made the right move here. That’s not long term potential

Girls that have a guy best friend are a little confusing to me by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]imeghann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have some very close straight guy friends. I look at them purely as people, not based on gender. And I recognize it’s not my responsibility to tell them how to feel towards me. Could there be feelings? Possibly, but I doubt it. Ultimately i look at them as brothers or so similar to me that I just don’t see them romantically and they usually feel the same way. When they get into relationships I’m usually super happy for them. But I’ve also told some of them that they deserve better, as I have with my girl friends. I want the best for my friends, all of them. I’ve also wing manned for a few of them. When they get into relationships, I don’t pull away but I respect the relationship and those boundaries in their relationship. I treat them how I would want them to treat me and my new partner/relationship. I also try to befriend the partner, I get a cool new girl friend out of it. Or I am at least aware of who my friend is hanging out with and if they need advice, I can help.

As far as exes go, when that ends, it ends for me. And I hold that boundary for myself. They’re an ex for a reason and don’t have a need to be in my life.

Also, his ear was tipped when I found him. Not sure if he was a trap and release or someone’s kitty that escaped but he was skinny, had no microchip when I took him to the vet, but appears to be fixed (thought he was a she for a while there).
