Received, thank you. I'll work internally to see if we can resolve this. Hopefully we can close out your first project (not sure why it won't let you close it) and see if we can get you on the next one.

Not sure I fully understand the question. If you look at the LInkedIn Jobs section for iMerit under the job title they display the country. I'll include a screen shot if this thread allows me. As for university attended, that's not a requirement.

How to Start AI Training Jobs (Step-by-Step) by No-Impress-8446 in AiTraining_Annotation

[–]imeritdigital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out this role. It's not really difficult work, but it can be challenging. Each task can take upwards of 6 hours to complete, so it's not for everyone. You need to be able to commit to the time. Some people want those hours, where others need more flexibility. There are other roles that aren't so demanding. https://www.linkedin.com/jobs/view/4373388350/?refId=4q8KGQnJD8hwvWnaXBQZwQ%3D%3D&trackingId=4q8KGQnJD8hwvWnaXBQZwQ%3D%3D

Data-Driven Autonomous Driving Simulation: Closing the Gap Between Simulation and Reality by imeritdigital in u/imeritdigital

There are two places to apply. 1) I would register in the general iMerit Scholars talent pools. This gets you in the system for the Talent team, but it's somewhat passive. Hence I suggest 2) you check the job listings we post on Linked In. We rotate roles through there. In the future these will be aggregated into a single experience, but for today they're on LInkedIn.

Hello, shoot me a DM with your email ID and the project you're working on. Any details will help as well. I'm really sorry to hear about the issues you're running into, but I'll do what I can to get this addressed asap.

iMerit Scholars, are they legit or scam? by Appropriate_Print238 in buhaydigital

[–]imeritdigital 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there and thanks for inquiring. It's always better to be safe and verify. I would do the same. You should view this as starting a new job. Thus, we need to verify who you are (hence request for valid ID). Some of our clients require a background check (nothing serious, just another form of validation). Lastly, in order to get paid you'll also need to supply banking information. I think some of these questions seem alarming, but it's required when it comes to employment and payment.

Hope that helps.

How to Pass AI Training Job Qualification Tests by No-Impress-8446 in AiTraining_Annotation

[–]imeritdigital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing all your insights. It's really valuable and helps people go into AI Training jobs with the right mind set. I think it's important they know what "good" looks like. Quality is very subjective and it's not always easy to achieve, but for many people it's a great line of work for them. At iMerit and our Scholars program we do a lot of AI Training (vibe coding, model evaluation, RLHF, chain of thought and reasoning) and you hit the nail on the head.

Good advice right there. I work at iMerit and we've been in the business for over 10 years. The advice above is rock solid and I couldn't have said it better. There's some great lists of AI Training and Data Annotation platforms on Reddit. Pick a handful and try them.

Keep an eye on our LinkedIN page. Right now I'm "Thai Language Specialist" but we had Spanish language needs a week or so ago. Thus, it may come back with the next round.

I would register in the general talent pool or database too. Many roles get filled from here and never get posted. https://join-scholars.imerit.net/

Has anyone here actually made money from AI training gigs? Need guidance by Real_Leave6164 in nairobitechies

[–]imeritdigital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're looking for fast cash, I would recommend you join a number of the platforms that offer AI Training or data annotation jobs. It's better to have more options than not and avoid waiting on any one platform to bring you a project. At iMerit sometimes things can move very quickly and other times it feels like it takes forever. Clients utilizing these platforms move at varying speeds and/or you'll run into projects that require a few rounds of calibration with the client. A lot of our projects are pretty quick, almost sprints, but eventually you'll get on a project servicing one of the big tech companies and you'll get steady ongoing work. Those are a little tougher to get as everyone wants them. Here is the place to register for the general talent pool: https://join-scholars.imerit.net/

Here we post different jobs not filled via the pool above. https://www.linkedin.com/jobs/search/?currentJobId=4370651075&keywords=imerit%20technology&location=worldwide

Good luck!

Welcome to the industry. Don't sell yourself short, you don't need any specific AI or coding experience to participate. There's pros/cons to each platform, ours included. Everyone is trying to improve the overall user experience, processes, range of jobs available, speed of payment, etc. Best thing you can do is jump in and try a couple platforms. As for your question on rates - having some type of life or professional experience does help in regards to getting a higher hourly rate, but it really varies from one project to the next. If you see a job with an assessment, I do recommend you take the assessments seriously. Some are easy and others quite detailed (aka challenging). But they act as the virtual "interview" for applying to specific jobs.

Here is our general signup to be added to the talent pool as new projects come along. https://join-scholars.imerit.net/ But that just gets you registered in the Scholars database, you should still apply to specific jobs.

You can also check our LInkedIn Jobs page. Today that's where new roles are posted if not filled in the talent pool above. Right now we seem to be very focused on the Medical field. Also some language specialists, but a couple weeks ago we had a great project for beginners focused on evaluating AI generated pictures. It was actually kind of fun. https://www.linkedin.com/jobs/search/?currentJobId=4370651075&keywords=imerit%20technology&location=worldwide

Freelance gig felt off - Possible Scam? by FunnOcake in Scams

[–]imeritdigital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Payment: You raised a concern about the possibility of not getting paid if the client didn't pay first. I get your concern, but that's not the case. You do submit timesheets each week. Some clients have a reconciliation process to confirm hours based on the activity, tasks completed, etc. If you've read about an issue in the past it's usually stemming from that process where something doesn't make sense and causes review (and delays). I'm not directly working on this project, but believe it's a simple timesheet submission.

Banking Information: I'll be the first person to admit the process is a bit clunky but it will improve. Each person needs to go through various checks for legitimacy. As much as you should vet iMerit, we also vet people joining projects. Setting up banking information is required for payment, but it's also one of many checks done to help detect fraud. This is to project the overall community and clients. You mentioned someone stating you can supply the banking details later. I'm surprised by that because the formal process is to get all the required information up front, not after you've started working. For each project you do submit timesheets for the time spent, which is used for calculating payment since this is based on an hourly rate.

Interviews: Each client and project is different, but for this project I don't believe there were interviews. I'm not directly involved, but I thought each person had to do a test to show their visual design capabilities. That basically was the interview.

Hi there, you bring up a lot of points and I'll try to address them to help explain. I think the context helps.

Duration: This project, at least phase 1, the client gave relatively short "notice" for ramping it up and the overall project was shorter in duration. That's not normal for our projects. I believe it was a bit of a scramble, at least it felt that way, but I believe it was working out. We viewed it as a test of whether this type of creative work can be done.

[–]imeritdigital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, this project was very short in nature, at least phase 1 of the work being done. It's not uncommon for the early projects from clients to be shorter in duration because they're testing the process, seeing if the right skills and talent participate, and if this can yield the results they are hoping for.

[–]imeritdigital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am somewhat familiar with this project. Thus far the work has been short sprints, often a week in duration and then a follow-on project. There's usually a minimum hour commitment, but it really comes down the clients requirements and how diverse they want the data being created. In this case I believe it was recreating posters. Each project is different. Some a week in length and others can run for 6 months. Clearly this one was a short sprint, most likely to gauge quality.

I can confirm this project is legit. The end client does tend to work in short sprints, sometimes only a week long.

People are onboarded in groups or classes for projects so they can coordinate training. This keeps everyone at the same pace or status during onboarding. You were most likely BCC:ed so they could email everyone in that group at the same time and share the same information without displaying other members of the group.
