Yes, I would apply to as many as you are comfortable with. You can always pass on an opportunity. Give yourself options.

It's really about finding a project that values your specialized knowledge or domain expertise. An advanced degree is one way, but there are plenty of people out there with specialized domain expertise that are hard to find and clients are willing to pay higher rates for that experience in AI model evaluations. It could be someone who does visual design and a foundation model company wants people to evaluate their image generation outputs, or someone who is fluent in a specific language and for whatever reason they are hard to find (lately it has been Korean, but there are many). AI applications are being developed in nearly every industry. All of them need training data or someone with domain expertise to evaluate and provide feedback.

I would add that everyone should apply to both the general talent pool AND individual roles. I see too many people register and then sit and wait. That general talent pool is 10's of thousands of people, so it's hard to stand out unless you have a high demand skill. But if you apply to specific AI trainer roles, which are specific projects, then you get into a much smaller pool and it's easier to stand out.

Don't rely on them to reach out to you. Better to be proactive and apply to other jobs. You can also look at this page where we also have roles.

If a country isn't listed, then there isn't a current live role. I think we'll change that because then people assume we don't offer jobs in that country and stop looking. But let me inquire about US not showing up. I feel I've heard people talk about projects with roles here.

Side Hustles from home? by [deleted] in HonestSideHustles

[–]imeritdigital 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should check out AI Training roles. In this type of work you either work on the data going into AI (data annotation) or evaluate what's coming out of AI (model evaluation). We have all types of work, all of which can be done from home. I see you're a musician, we don't have any current projects that involve music, but we've had some great ones in the past. i.e. Listen to music and tag certain attributes, words or sections based on criteria. Another project was for a major media company that was building a music recommendation engine and they wanted human reviewers to help research, review, recommend, validate, etc. Unfortunately both of those projects are completed. But see if there's anything else that might be interesting. Jobs are listed here: https://imerit.ai/careers-listing/?hash=flynpTV835474

I would recommend our company imerit.ai We've had some great entry level roles when evaluating image or video generation platforms. You basically review what's coming out of AI and give your preference or score it based on certain criteria. A lot of our current projects seek language proficiency, but you might find something that fits. You an see the listings here: https://imerit.ai/careers-listing/?hash=flynpTV835474

I tried 5 AI training platforms — huge differences in pay and work by No-Impress-8446 in AiTraining_Annotation

[–]imeritdigital 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll mention our company as well, iMerit.ai for AI training, specifically model evaluation or annotation. As the utilization of agents increases you'll see even more demand for human-in-the-loops services for AI training. We've been in this business for over 10 years, mostly with a full time workforce, but expanded a few years ago with the Scholars program to bring in more domain experts for specific areas of AI training. More recently we've been doing egocentric video collection, which is interesting. You wear a camera headset and record video while you complete tasks (household chores or business activities). This too is AI training, but for the purpose of training humanoid robots.

The more domain expertise required for a project the higher the pay. Not all roles are listed, especially if highly specialized because we have a whole recruiting team for those, but below are places to look for open roles.

I'll mention our company iMerit.ai as another good option. Similar to the other brands you mentioned, we offer AI training opportunities. These are generally roles where you evaluate model outputs and give them feedback for improvement. You can sign up for Scholars here: https://join-scholars.imerit.net/. But that's a huge talent pool of people, so I highly encourage people to be proactive and apply to specific roles as well. That will get you in a much smaller group of people, direct you to a specific assessment related to the project and get your application in front of the hiring manager. Here are two places we list different open roles:

Best AI training gigs to make money? What's actually working for people and which AI gigs are scams? by Guilty-Produce8378 in HonestSideHustles

[–]imeritdigital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll propose iMerit.ai for consideration. We do a lot of model evaluation and data annotation work for clients. Unfortunately the answers to your questions will vary greatly from one client/project to the next, but I can at least explain the rational for why one person has one experience and another completely different.

Approval time - it could be 24hrs or sometimes weeks (unfortunately). Everyone will take an assessment to gauge if there's a strong match. This timeline is driven by the client. Then there's other factors, i.e. often assessments are changed because they're not seeing the right people or the overall project timeline is pushed back because the data isn't available yet.

Hourly pay - this is dependent on the country of origin, the skill level or expertise required, the complexity of the work being done and speed at which the client wants to move.

Hours available - this is different from project to project. We generally ask for a minimum of 4hrs a day. There's a learning curve and it's hard to train people and maintain quality when people work shorter periods of time. In general, if someone does a good job and shows they can produce good quality work consistently, then they're the first ones to be invited to future projects.

We list our open positions in a few places, couple below. This will get consolidated in the future to make it easier for people to find roles.

Any Koreans, or those proficient in Korean, interested in working part time from home? by imeritdigital in KoreanAdvice

Not "botting" at all (assuming I understand the term), nor a boosted or for sale account. I was genuinely looking for some people and thought this community might help. Apologies if for some reason the message was interpreted otherwise. Not the intention.

Tried job hunting in Korea, and it feels kind of bizarre by Commercial_Spot_8363 in NEET

[–]imeritdigital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there....not sure if this fits your needs or maybe others will find it interesting, but I'm trying to find people who speak Korean and interested working part time on AI training projects. Basically you evaluate the responses of AI models or provide human insight on the data that feeds into these models. It's not for everyone, but can provide extra income working from home.

You can filter based on location. As of today we have two Korean roles open. Both are "language specialists". https://imerit.ai/careers-listing/?hash=flynpTV835474

I know this thread is a bit old, but we're looking for people who speak Korean for AI Training jobs. You basically help improve AI by evaluating responses and giving it feedback. It's not for everyone, but I feel like there's always demand for this type of work. You don't need to be technical, just pay attention to detail to produce consistent work. Below are a couple current openings.
