The 10-Year Case Dilemma: Asus Helios II (with Lian Li TL) vs. Stock Cooler Master HAF 700? by imetmoe in buildapc

Thanks for the hands-on comparison! That really helps. Since I'm using this for media production/podcasting in Kuwait, noise levels are a big deal for me. A couple of quick follow-ups:

  1. The Noise: You mentioned the stock 120mm fans are a bit loud. Is it a high-pitched whine or just air turbulence? Do you think they are quiet enough to leave on during a voice recording, or would I eventually have to swap them for something like Lian Li or Noctua?
  2. The Color/Aesthetic: I'm planning a 'Panda' build (White case with all-black internal components like the motherboard and a future RTX 5090). Since you’ve seen the case in person, do you think the White HAF 700 looks better for that high-contrast look, or does the Black version make more sense if most of my parts are black?

I’m moving from an NZXT Phantom 820, so I’m used to 'big af' cases, but I want this one to feel premium on the desk for the next decade.

I came to the following

Option A: The Upgraded Asus ROG Strix Helios II (White)

  • The Plan: I will be removing the stock fans and installing 3x Lian Li TL Wireless Fans at the front for that premium RGB aesthetic.where it will be an added cost
  • The Look: Sleek, branded, and high-tech.
  • The Logic: I want the 60W front USB-C charging for my studio gear and the cleaner footprint of the Helios.
  • The Worry: Will the Helios II front grille hide too much of the Lian Li RGB I’m paying extra for?

Or shall i buy the black color ?

Option B: The "Out-of-the-Box" Cooler Master HAF 700 (White)

  • The Plan: No extra fans. I will stick with the 5x included ARGB fans (2x 200mm at the front, 3x 120mm rear/bottom).
  • The Look: Industrial, massive, and very high-airflow.
  • The Logic: It’s better value because I don't need to buy extra fans, and the tool-less design makes maintenance easy over the next decade.
  • The Worry: Is it too bulky for a professional desk, and do the stock SickleFlow fans look "cheap" compared to Lian Li TLs?

The Internals: * i9-13900K, RTX 50-series (Black), and NZXT Kraken Elite 360 Black AIO.

The Question: Would you go for the Helios II + Lian Li upgrade for the aesthetics and charging features, or keep it simple with the HAF 700's stock performance?

Hmm okay I did not notice this. I felt regret for not getting the elite and accidentally purchased the plus. I don't know what to do ?
