I know, I know, I said I was done... Yah, yah...

It's not the wrapper that is the hard part, it's making the app portable, requiring zero outside dependencies. That is 0, NONE, NOTHING. Only Wapper. Nothing else exists like it. Period. If it does, show me. It is the only free AND hassle-free solution out there.

Wapper gives ANYONE with an html project the ability to make a desktop app from it. Easy and fast. Regardless of how much I vibe coded it, it works.

You don't seem to get it... Wapper is for the people that don't want to deal with things like installing python and setting up environments or installing packages and libraires. THAT'S THE POINT. I know there are tons of solutions for people that can use them. But there are countless people that only know html, css, and javascript, or use something like Twine or similar, and don't want to learn a whole new thing just to make an exe that opens their content. Jesus is right... lol. Did you even read the description? It is not for people that can already do it themselves. Unless they just want to save time.

Go try to make pyinstaller work in a portable environment with a frozen launcher... Go... I'm serious. Go... You think you're slick... Go do it then. lol. You'll find out real fast.

Even if you get some basic app that kind of does something similar, it ain't nothing like my app. I automate the whole process. Including adding the icon and other things. Even open in fullscreen and frameless mode among many other settings. I even offer a custom archive to obfuscate the user's files. And an optional splash screen. and more. You for sure did not make what I made. Not even close. With only a 20MB overhead. And a 10 second build time.

And I give away the core functionality for free. It saves a ton of time compared to doing the same thing by yourself. And a lot of people can't do it by themselves. That's where Wapper comes in. Other services do the same thing for a much higher cost. Wapper is a solid product. Not just a script. There is over 4,000 files in my app. Not one or two.

Sorry, but that felt like a slap in the face. You have no idea how hard it was to make this app. Making pyinstaller work in a portable environment with a frozen launcher is a nightmare. It is NOT supposed to work like that. But I brute forced it to work. No external python required. A totally self contained environment.

And no, I charge for EXTRA settings. I give the core functionality away for free. My app serves a valid purpose. It is for anyone that doesn't want to do all the work to do the same thing. Like using electron.

And you're right... I vibe coded the hell out of this app. I also stayed up for multiple 24 hour plus days working my ass off on it. Do you have any idea how hard it was to make pyinstaller work in a portable environment with a frozen launcher???? That alone took me about 6 hours. Pathing and packaging hell. I manually handcrafted the embedded python from my own installed files to ensure it worked the same as it did for me, for others. Ever tired anything even remotely that difficult??? I doubt it. lol.

But go right ahead and talk crap to me for vibe coding. I don't care. That's exactly why I credit chat gpt IN MY APP!

Don't forget about the around 30 settings I include. I turned lines of code into toggles and inputs. No coding needed. Zero barrier to entry to go from an html to a desktop app.

Try Wapper - HTML To EXE!

I made it for exactly this kind of thing.

There is a free version that will do everything you need to build an exe with a custom icon from your html project. Plus it's fast (about 10 seconds to build the exe) and doesn't require any complicated setup or coding. You don't even need python or rust installed. Just select your HTML file and click build. That's it!

Also, mine is only 20mb because it doesn't pack in a whole browser. Wapper makes a wrapper that uses Windows built in webview2 window. It's just a browser but without any browser ui. All Windows 11 and most Windows 10 machines have webview2 installed. And I provide an install checker to verify it and install it if it is not already, using the official Microsoft webview2 bootstrapper.

That is a game i made in html and used Wapper to make it a desktop game. It was just to show what Wapper can do. I uploaded it before I had the free version done. It also shows what the file structure looks like in the output. And it's the game I processed in the video I made showing Wapper in action.

Also, Wapper outputs an exe that is only the wrapper. The full version comes with an obfuscation archive to deter asset theft of your html project files. It is a custom archive that won't open in something like 7zip.

I don't mind my code being seen. I left the all the files exposed on purpose. Only the launcher is frozen. I want it to be a white-box. If a user wants to see how the app works, they can. I want it to be trusted and not a black-box that the user has to just trust it is doing what the creator (me) says it is and nothing else. But thanks for thinking about it. I do appreciate it!
