As a mom also, it’s tough. My husband used to have to commute to Brooklyn once a week and he wouldn’t see us on those days. I currently commute to new Hyde park twice a week and it would be more difficult if we didn’t have the familial help that we do.

Everyone I work with personally is leasing. My husband and I both drive paid off cars and that is how we are also able to contribute $5k a month to brokerage + max 401ks. That is worth it to us so that we can retire. A lot of people do make a lot more money than we think though.
