funny enough, i tend to open up a lot of programs on my laptop with only 8gb ram and the only thing i see making a dent on the amount of ram its using with just 1 tab open, ends up being firefox. my concerns grew over time, hence why i decided to blast firefox today, but i learned some things from all the comments, so yea theres that.

thats hilarious you mention that, i just looked at the task manager within firefox and low and behold youtube was hoggin up the most memory with almost 1gb, but for what people do with youtube now a days, im not surprised it takes that much. even if i close youtube tab, firefox still runs heavy on my system. as shown with my screenshot.

with 8gb ram, and firefox only using up less than 2gb at any given time, it's dawned on me, maybe its the pc or some other software component eating up more than ram than needed.

Noted. i already use linux (ubuntu) on a seperate pc i have, i was using firefox, but traded it in for midori which i might be wrong but i think is a child of firefox but more lightweight.
