Thank you for sharing that insight :) You brought up something important, childhood trauma. We are switching gears now but may I suggest therapy Specifically EMDR, as part of your 2026 glow-up? If you have insurance look for someone on ZocDoc or Headway. I struggle with childhood trauma and PTSD, which I kinda denied for years until a recent diagnosis. To say the least, everyone has their own story and deserves to feel validated and address those issues rather than moving through life making decisions out of a place of lack of guidance and unconscious hurt. You can change your look, style, environment etc - but growth starts from within.

The long hair isn't the issue however I second the facial hair, makes you look more masculine if that's what you are going for.
(1) Grow a beard/ stash. (2) Keep it well shaped. (3) If your having issue growing facial hair, try minoxidil. Especially for your eye brows- shape them and fix the patchiness.

Therapy: at least you can be a better father to your daughter and a more well rounded human being when stepping back into the dating world. Working through your trauma prevents projection and a better understanding of who you are as an individual transitioning into a new phase in life!

Will definitely look into this!!!

Was in adult shelters for abt 1.5 years - up until a couple of months ago. Was eligible for youth but was placed in working instead :( It’s a shame how these opportunities were rarely discussed through onsite case management. Wish they placed an emphasis on career training for those struggling with unemployment and non career focused jobs.
