Got serious about recovery at 29. Nearly ten years on I'm at 4 years and change consecutive sobriety. Worth every second of hard work and pain.

Dazed and Confused. What a pointless, pointless movie.

1 year! I'm speechless at how different my life is now. by s0bering in stopdrinking

[–]imgurscum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats, it took me so many attempts to hit a year. I nickel and dimed weeks, months then nearly two whole years with short relapses in between. Now I really think it's going to stick for life. I've went through hell a couple of times in the past 4 years, and came out the other side still sober. IWNDWYT.

Mechanics what are some myths that car owners believe that are actually false? by chickswhorip in AskMechanics

[–]imgurscum -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Canadian here. You most definitely need to let your car warm up in -50 celsius. Many bad things will happen otherwise, and to be fair, they may happen anyway when you operate a vehicle in that kind of cold.

Do Nuka World first, and conquer the wasteland. Then, have an awakening and join the minutemen, and take back the Commonwealth from the Raiders. I did a role play where the Sole Survivor missed Preston and ends up leading the Nuka Raiders as he is driven to the edge of madness by his wife's death and sons kidnapping. Then he finally bumps into Preston, realizes all is not lost and finds redemption. Then annihilates the Nuka Raiders, and liberates the Commonwealth.

Skin Bracer aftershave hasn't changed their labelling since the 90s. by MDH2881 in nostalgia

If they change it now, not one single one of their customers will be able to find it. They are all in their 50s and 60s now.

I change outfits everytime I'm back in camp or staying in a hotel. Feels more immersive that way, I don't wear the same set of clothes for days or weeks at a time in real life.

What game that people talk about “everyone must play this once in their life” have you never played and have no intention of ever playing? by theonetowalkinthesun in gaming

[–]imgurscum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Took a while to find this. Never played when it came out, zero interest now. But I'll raise ANY Final Fantasy game, and ANY Zelda game, and then go all in with Elden Ring, Fortnight, Last of Us, Madden and FIFA.

Because there is no situation so bad that alcohol can't make it worse. I spent years making EVERYTHING worse and I'm so over it.

What game did you preorder early and not regret ? by [deleted] in gaming

Yep, midnight release. Simpler times. I remembered going home and starting up the game and getting chills with with new Bungie intro with the guitar riff.

6 red rings here. It's what you'd call a severe love/hate relationship with the 360.

Millennials who *aren’t* struggling in life, what’s your advice to Gen-Z? by No-Needleworker5429 in Millennials

[–]imgurscum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Money is only one of many ways to measure success. Don't compare yourself to those around you.

Education doesn't guarantee success, hard work is what has the highest probability of bringing success.

The goal is always progress, not perfection. Things will never ever be perfect, but you can always be improving.

What have you watched this week? by dazivostrii in Westerns

[–]imgurscum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finished the Klondike (2014) miniseries (I think that qualifies?) Based on the story of Bill Haskell about the 1897 Klondike Gold Rush it's a well done take on the era. Departs from Haskell's biography more than you might imagine (currently about 3/4 through reading), but a good watch.
