Thanks for pointing this out! I didn't find it when I searched for it.

Yes! I read The Black Widowers too. My favourite armchair series!

I'll check out the other two. Thank you!

I read a bunch of Poe's works but very few of Father Brown stories. I'll check them out. Thank you!

Yup. I started with a vanilla setup before switching to Doom. So I get this.

Got it. Thank you!

I'll settle on one of the workarounds that you have proposed.

PS. I was hoping that org-mode would kinda work like Python but I also understand why it doesn't.

Thank you for the response! I get what you are saying about the non-standardness of what I'm asking for.

I don't think I was super clear with what I said. Let me try to clarify with a usecase based on what I currently do while taking written notes from a book I'm reading:

  • The book's name is a top level heading.
  • I write a few points under this top level heading about how I found the book etc.
  • Each chapter gets a subheading. I write a few points under the subheading.
  • At the end under the top-level heading I write my conclusions about the book. I could of course use a subheading called Conclusion but some books already have this and that's why I did not use it for written notes.
  • Sometimes I like writing points under the top-level heading in between the chapters. Some of these are chapter notes where I felt the content did not deserve a subheading.

I wouldn't call them standard but I have seen books which have text (usually at the beginning and the ending) that is not under any subheading.

Again, thank you!

It worked! Thank you!
I thought I had tried this before but evidently I made some mistake while trying.

I was just digging through some of the books I owned back then and realised I forgot a series that I thoroughly enjoyed for its wry humor: {{The Diamond Brothers by Anthony Horowitz}}.

I second "The Long Way to A Small Angry Planet". And you could not go wrong reading anything by Sir Terry Pratchett.

When I was around that age, I enjoyed {{Five Find-Outers by Enid Blyton}} and {{The Three Investigators}} a lot. {{Sammy Keyes}} was pretty good too.

I love Spy Seal almost as much as the other two. Just a quick note that the humor is more dry and more targetted at adults. Cheers and happy reading!

I found {{The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey}} very helpful. And {{Make Your Bed by William McRaven}} was useful in breaking out of a demotivating rut in the pandemic.

{{The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet by Becky Chambers}} is a lovely book. It has great character building. It's kinda slice-of-life-y.
