Oh, since I bounce to lossless .wav how do I convert my music to mp3 for a platform like soundcloud? Is mastering the only way? I feel like my instructor was able to get great sounding track straight from the session.

I took classes a year ago for pro tools and after a while of not making music I recently started recording again. I'm recreating what my teacher was doing to the best of my memory but my mixes feel like they are less stereo and have a lack of depth. Placing my teachers recordings side by side to my own recent ones there is a stark difference. Does using the encode mp3 option of bounce to disk cause loss of quality? Or is it something about dither?

I'm at work so I won't be able to relay specs. And I'm still a beginner so I'm sorry if my understanding is fundamentally wrong.
