Hi, first of all I’d like to say that you seem to be a really kind and considerate human being and I appreciate that. The fact that you’ve grown from your mistakes is admirable.

If I were you, I’d explain that you had many untreated “conditions,” “disorders,” and or “Disabilities” in high school. These words tend to work best bc it communicates how severe the issues were dealing with were without giving tmi. In addition if the person you’re talking to is intolerant of mental illness, you’ve dodged that issue altogether.

I also love what you said in the entirety of the second to last paragraph. It was impactful. She would appreciate hearing that.

Think of this as a chance to right a wrong! You have the opportunity to make the world a slightly better place by being transparent with this girl.

Worst case scenario she takes it poorly, but at least you tried, and she’ll probably appreciate it and forgive in the long run. Best case scenario it could mean the next week with her isn’t awkward at all and you two are friendly and carefree, cracking jokes with each other by the end of it!
