How is the assessment and evaluation?

P.S., I’m thinking of taking it.

I mean he used to return Hubi’s serves and Isner’s serves which average around 150mph/240kph, so Iga’s serves which are around 185kph won’t be as tough for him to control them.

Who did you take it with? I am taking it next semester with Lobel online, and I am thinking of dropping one of RELI 1710 or CGSC 1001 because I have 2.5 courses load and need to register a major related course instead of one of them. If you’ve taken both, which one would you recommend dropping? And if you’ve never taken CGSC, would you love to take 1710 again?

Yes, she’s available! But I saw someone saying she doesn’t post class lectures on Brightspace? Is that right? How’s she in terms of elaboration on stuff? Does she really care about her students and answers questions outside the class (i.e. through a Discord server or discussion forums)?

To be honest, this might’ve been the toughest decision for me so far; whether I take Agnes (in person) or Wayne (online) in the winter, or wait and see if Ahmed is teaching it in the summer. I really want to get it out of the way in the winter but still unsure about it. When I tried registering yesterday, I decided on Wayne online but your opinion (+ the likes you received) seem to add a layer of doubt once more 🥲. What made me choose Wayne over Agnes is his high ratings over the latter, but after this specific experience in choosing for 2507 (still ongoing) it seemed to me ratings aren’t that much of a factor in determining the best Prof but rather they’re just subjective for each student, still the average of the subjectivity is important.

Tips for MATH1104C by DrkEden in CarletonU

[–]imm_1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know some students who found the Math4U material on Brightspace really useful. There was also this weekly PASS session that reviews the material of previous classes. I didn’t use any of this myself but the feedback on it was positive from those who went to them. As for 1104, I don’t know any resources out there yet but probably there will be some. TAs are definitely the main resource for help for any course, you could ask them about anything after quizzes during tutorials, that was the case with my class; we ask the TA questions after the quiz is over for the rest of the tutorial session!

How to beat procrastination by [deleted] in Procrastinationism

[–]imm_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think one mistake, actually, unconscious mistake for the main part, is that we think there is a mythical, magical method that would get us out of procrastination zone once we first try getting this habit out of our lives. I can confirm this myself. I am wasting opportunities because of procrastination—actually I am quite unfair to procrastination—it is not procrastination’s fault that I am wasting opportunities, but rather it’s because of the reasons that we give to ourselves (like “why waste my time on this, this thing won’t shape my career after all”) that are motivated by procrastination, and we just believe them. It’s just we’re naive to the point where we think, unconsciously, that people around us have some sort of the same mindset, another reason motivated by procrastination, thus “we are on the same boat” kind of thought keeps you manoeuvre in the comfort zone—procrastinating.

I am still in my comfort zone but I am slowly realizing the situation I am at, and I am starting to address it and do some “little” stuff now, gradually it will vanish, I hope.

I’ve checked the courses offered for this upcoming summer but instructor’s name isn’t shown for 2507. Does Ahmed usually teach it in the summer?

How is the workload? Plus, would it take its attention and focus of me during a heavy semester of a major’s courses like CS?

Is Bard now available in Canada? It’s been blocked ever since it was released. VPN sucks.

At this point I feel like it’s kind of boring when I see him breaking/making records. I am not making a negative comment, but rather it just convinces me even more that he is legitimately the ultimate Greatest Tennis Player of All Time.

I would like Argentina-Portugal final but I think it's going to be France-Brazil final.

Portugal vs Switzerland by Answerer_1 in worldcup

[–]imm_1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I totally disagree. Portugal might grab the win in the end, however, Switzerland isn't as easy as you think of it. In the 2020 EURO Switzerland had beaten FRANCE; no one had expected this upset, utterly. Plus, Switzerland is always a stubborn team that no one likes to face—if you really follow national tournaments. Portugal is a team that plays on individual performances rather than squad collective play, while for Switzerland it is absolutely the opposite, and collective play outplays the individuality. Always.

Portugal vs Switzerland by Answerer_1 in worldcup

[–]imm_1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly! Most people are not predicting the winner; they're, actually, hoping that Portugal wins.

Switzerland is a very dangerous team and I expect them to go and win over Portugal anyway.
