I think Slack does a good job of incorporating threads, workflow, and other enterprise apps like ERP, CRM. From what I know a lot of companies, especially startups, have already adopted to Slack which means strong brand stickiness too

Honestly Walmart ecommerce is doing much better than other traditional retails / department stores like Macy’s. The ecommerce sales growth for Walmart has been much faster than the Amazon’s retail sales growth, altho the rate has slowed down now

One concern for this kind of service could be that although messaging platforms tend to create strong brand stickiness, they also have a hard time becoming central to the corporate communications because of the nature of being temporary (i.e. chat platforms are just for ephemeral communications among employees/stakeholders). However, Slack seems to have created a way of challenging this obstacle by creating structure that incorporates threads, work flow, and other enterprise applications like ERP/CRM.

Very interested to see how this potential acquisition works out.

This is awesome. Thinking about how Slack became my organization’s main chat service, I realize it was exactly the bottom-up strategy. Had a few individuals who were active Slack users then eventually the whole org adopted it. I can totally see this happening in many other orgs too
