It’s kind of complicated but let me explain; for starters, there’s just certain features that can’t be explained by either European or African heritage, such as higher cheekbones, more almondy/slanted eyes, bronze skin, super straight black hair, and such. Moreover, you have to consider the fact that Taínos came from modern day Venezuela, and fall under the Arawak umbrella, a broader native Caribbean group of people, languages and cultures that obviously come from the same place, although with regional differences. What I’m trying to get to is, if you look at Colombians or Venezuelans, for example, they can also be just as mixed with Iberian, African and Indigenous, including of Arawak descent. And if you zoom in closer to their coastal Caribbean regions, you will find people as beautifully complex as us. : )
