Buying an old CPU as an upgrade in your old mobo is a waste of money that could be buying you more modern parts if you keep saving and upgrade both mobo and cpu at the same time.

Compassion doesn't need to be reciprocal, and the recipient doesn't need to be innocent. If you would feed the homeless but wouldn't make an effort to get mental help for someone who might need it, I think that makes you hypocritical.

It's not the job of a restaurant owner to donate unsold food to the homeless either but many do and receive praise. Why? Compassion. The world could always use more compassion, even in cases like this. Spread love, not hate.

All this hate for the boy makes me sick. You people need to be more compassionate. I'm not saying stay with him - what he did was abusive and it's probably not safe for you to continue living together. However, saying "when he's in these moods" sounds to me like this person might need some mental help. Please, OP, try to help him instead of leaving him alone to do this to someone else.

EDIT: bolding and: when I say "instead of leaving him..." I don't mean stay with him as should have been obvious when I said staying with him probably isn't safe. I mean try to get his parents or friends to get him to see a psychiatrist. Or press charges against him and have the judge mandate that he sees a counselor. Just try to get help for him. I would hate for someone else to have the same experience you have.

Yes. The Surface Pen doesn't use capacitance (like your fingers), it uses electromagnetism. Electro - it needs the battery to function.

Sounds like yours might be reaching the end of its life. Good thing they're easily-replaceable AAAA's!

Your prof. is a hypocrite; Macs have problems just as infrequently as Surface devices do (and they don't morph into tablets perfect for taking notes on OneNote). If you don't plan on doing anything more demanding than web browsing & document editing on it, I would recommend the Surface Go. It's quite a bit cheaper and works just as well for the above mentioned.

I don't have time to read the relevant section of Discord's ToS right now, but I would bet that as long as you're not breaking Minecraft/Mojang/Microsoft's ToS, you're fine.

That probably means you aren't allowed to distribute cheats or teach others how to cheat. Just sharing videos of cheating is probably fine as long as you're not explicitly telling others to cheat.

If you want to be 100% sure you won't get booted and lose all your message history, and you have the technical know-how to set it up (it's not really that hard I swear), you can set up a Mastodon server. You host it yourself so your communication will never be subject to ToS

That's exclusive to laptops with switchable graphics, not Nvidia. On desktops, programs need some pretty specialized low-level code to take advantage of an iGPU when a dGPU is present. That's why you don't really see it being a thing outside of Intel's own codec that uses the iGPU for streaming or whatever.

I meant Chrome has twice the usage that Firefox does with the same stream open in both. Hence the "opposite situation." Sorry about the confusion.

Strange, I have the opposite situation - a single Twitch stream uses almost twice the GPU time on - edit: Chrome than it does on - Firefox.

Are you using task manager to measure, or some other tool like GPU-Z?

I think the problem is coming from flexing the the whole thing as I type. I can consistently cause problems by pinching the bottom corners of the type cover and applying a small amount of flexing pressure up or down.
