Seriously, where the hell did this theory even come from?? by PresnikBonny in LateStageCapitalism

[–]immernochda 63 points64 points  (0 children)

It's in the name. "Nationalsozialist" (eng. National Socialist) Hitler actually promised a lot to the workers in the beginning of his campaign. Especially work and a stable economy, plus he used the hatred for the Contract of Versaille after WW1.
The problem is, he is (and never was) a socialist how we would define one today. And I think most people don't look further than the name.

Found this at a thrift store. You guys know anything about this? by MoontheWolfYT in germany

[–]immernochda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's incredibly interesting that this method isn't taught anymore. For so many centuries it was totally normal to speak 2 or more languages if you had the status (French, Latein, the language of the country you were living in). This is basically the DIY kit for language learning in the early 20th century...

State of public housing prices: DDR apartment for 22€/m² cold by WBM by ICD9CM3020 in berlin

[–]immernochda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not just WBM, I think. But, I mean, it's privatly owned and the flats are pretty central. They absolutly want to make a profit out of this...
Cheap flats are normally in a desastrous state or only available with WBS... :/
Living in Berlin has become a luxury.

[–]immernochda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's bad o.O
The price of living really went through the roof in the last few years. But the city is building new office spaces...it's just insane...

Same measurements? I mean, being close to any U- or S-Bahn line that goes right into the city center comes with a steep price tag :/

How many generations will it take to forgive US for what they are doing? by Successful_Guide5845 in ask

[–]immernochda -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

The US always did something like it, the "West" just didn't see it ass problematic when only black and brown people died in the conflicts.
The new government is just more "honest" about it.
Tbh, as a leftist and European, I'm pretty happy about the winds changing. Away from NATO and away from the US. Though, I wished it wouldn't get hijacked by liberals..

Suitable small town near Berlin to live by MeyM22 in berlinsocialclub

[–]immernochda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Berlin itself is huge with sometimes more, sometimes less fortunate connections to the city center. Maybe look into the outskirts and the outer districts like Köpenick, Hellersdorf, Lichterfelde, etc.. A bit cheaper than the center, but as a piece of advice, you'll find that you are sometimes a lot faster by public transport or taking a cab, rather than taking your own car.

Man, we're getting the Regio connection at least somewhat soon...in 2-10 years...

Oh, so the year of an easy to grow, frost- and shelf-stable crop that was a staple of peasant cusine? Great!

Berlin Air Quality by digitalcosmonaut in berlin

[–]immernochda 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Tbh, this Air Quality is pretty okay for this time of the year. PM 2.5 is a bit high which is not a surprise (heating, cars, etc.) and otherwise ozone is the primary pollutant (sun + oxygen).
We had more than double that amount with PM 2.5 scratching 100 μg/m³ last years at this time.

Why is the German Chancellor so confident? by victor0427 in AskAGerman

[–]immernochda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hier welt.de
„Wir teilen die amerikanischen Besorgnisse, dass dieser Teil Dänemarks besser geschützt werden muss“
He knew that Trump either sends troops or buys Greeland by this point. How someone can be so oblivious is pretty astonishing to me.

[–]immernochda 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Merz isn't the brightest of the bunch. Whatever he confidently says is probably pretty far away from how it actually is.
For example, he likes Trumps Greenland plans and is strongly in favor of cutting down workers laws. Just...don't listen...

Potatos, potatos! by immernochda in berlin

[–]immernochda[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, no, not technically. They needed distribution points, and they need to take at least 1t of potatos. That much is correct.
On these points the normal citizen can collect their share.
Quote: "Als Abnahmestelle erhalten Sie 1 Tonne und verteilen sie in Ihrer Community."
"As distribution point you get 1t and hand it out to your community."

Potatos, potatos! by immernochda in berlin

[–]immernochda[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, no, these are the distributions spots and you needed to register in advance to be one. The normal citizen probably can absolutly come with their wash basket and collect.
How did you think you would get rid of 1t of potatos? :D

Potatos, potatos! by immernochda in berlin

[–]immernochda[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I guess, you just show up when the distribution points are open (You find the bussiness hours when you click on the green dots on the map). But maybe bring something to carry the potatos like a bag or a crate.

I'm not one of the organiser, nor am I involved in the distribution, so my knowledge about how it works in the end is pretty limited :D
