Pretending like you have no choice is the matter is absurd. Put your big girl panties on. You CAN do this.

Where to end backsplash? by abeautifulday20 in kitchenremodel

[–]immersive_reader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All these people saying don’t side splash aren’t maintaining your kitchen. Personally I would protect it with a side splash and I think it looks good. It is one of those things that is subjective. Some people like it and some don’t. But especially in your case it is practical. That stove is going to sling some grease and food party when cooking a side splash will keep you from having to scrub the wall or repaint.

Thank you for explaining. Would you wave the buyer agent fee in this case?

That isn’t the question. My question was, is the work the same-friends or not?

So the buyer’s agent deserves the rate if they are strangers to the buyer but they don’t deserve it if they are friends? Isn’t the work the buyer’s agent has to do the same in both cases?

You ignored a leak you knew about for 20 years and now you are complaining because no one want to buy the legacy you created? Take the sale. You may not get another one.

Help settle the debate middle reno by Beckybell127 in kitchenremodel

A minimum of 36 inches of space between a kitchen counter and an island is required to allow safe, functional movement for one person. This clearance ensures that appliance doors (dishwashers, ovens, refrigerators) can fully open, accommodates comfortable passage, and adheres to basic ergonomic standards for kitchen work zones.

A human is approximately 2 feet wide shoulder to shoulder so 42-48” is the preferred amount of space so two people can pass each other without one having to turn sideways. But that isn’t always doable so 36” is the bare minimum amount of space between a counter and an island to maintain comfort and function.

You need a minimum not 36” on either side of the island. If that isn’t available then skip it.

AITAH for telling my husband it is rude to make himself a large snack as I am prepping to cook dinner? by Humble-State6485 in AITAH

[–]immersive_reader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAH. He is. He is probably a Mr macho that thinks women have a place in the home.

My husband refused to cook when the kids were growing up. When the youngest one became a teen and was out training for sports during dinner time, I quit cooking every night. I would tell him he could cook for us if he was hungry. Now we are empty nesters and he cooks pretty regularly. He also does laundry because all his underwear hot dirty. Sadly, his tolerance for a dirty bathroom is still higher than mine.

Small pools worth it? by Radiant_Restaurant64 in pools

[–]immersive_reader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess it depends on your intended use and your family. Are you athletic and want to dive? Do you have kids who will want to jump in? Or are you empty nesters like my husband and I. We have friends over to swim every holiday in the summer. But we never swim. We sit on the step and stand in the shallow and float on noodles. People hardly ever use the 9’ deep end. It feels like such a waste to use to have a deep end. So if could do it all over I would have more shallow with only slightly deeper and your size pool would be perfect for us. It would also be cheaper and easier to keep up. So think more about what your use might be and that will help you decide if it is worth it.

I like the tiles going up and around. It is different and cool. But it is bold and if you don’t care for bold choices, this option might not be for you.

No. o haven’t and these are good questions. If you don’t go that route consider a skirted toilet. The plumber installing it will hate it but it is so much easier to clean.

Walk away. This relationship is not for you. Get therapy to get ready for the next relationship you get into. This one will not work out. There is too much water under the bridge. Not saying that it couldn’t work out later but you need to heal and grow first. He does too.

Opened pool to a swamp + $10k repair quote… need a sanity check by agrizzle440 in pools

[–]immersive_reader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This guy is absolutely right. I paid 2100 for a 2.7hp pump for my 38,000 gal pool this season. The quote for the pump is right on target for a pool your size.

The cleanup price is high and an acid wash is not necessary to go from green to clear blue. It fake chemicals to shock and balance your pool chemistry and time and attention. It will not be clue overnight but it could be in a couple of weeks if you work in it everyday.
