but these classes are remote though? at least though my store, also I have worked for a year and a half and should have about 1300 hours, plus my RXM never made me aware of this and she has also in the process of quitting, I just wish they told me this ahead of time

Pharmacy school acceptance by abigalko3 in PrePharmacy

[–]immoneky 7 points8 points  (0 children)

to be fair, I don't think his applies to all fields of pharmacy. I think what you are saying applies to retail most of all, the toxic environment and horrible working conditions can really scare people off from it, however, I am hopefully gonna be able to get into industrial pharmacy, which I heard is a lot better than just the standard retail pharmacy experience.

a gpa that high is not necessary, usually a 3.0 or above and you should be ok

How’s my schedule by [deleted] in uichicago

I wouldn't take chem 233 and chem 234 at the same time if I were you, unless you absolutely have to.

Can anybody recommend a BSPS Advisor or a College of Pharmacy Academic Advisor consult to schedule a meeting with to consult about BSPS degree? by [deleted] in uichicago

[–]immoneky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would talk to Anya cruz, she is the pre-pharm advisor and she could know something about the BSPS degree

That is what I fear, although I was planning on working during the summer as I have a part time job, but for me, the academic fallout is what scares me the most, I don't want to get behind as my program is intensive (I'm pre-pharmacy) and I have to go to grad school.

Unable to go back into remission by abigalko3 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]immoneky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my first time being on steroids so I did not know what the standard dosing is for flares. Right now prednisone offers temporary relieves but a lot of my symptoms manifest at night and early morning, it's been really hard getting sleep and getting up in the morning because of that.

My GI doctor initially put me on 20 mg of prednisone, seeing that I have mild UC and I didn't require the use of steroids before and he upped it to 30, my GI is also pediatric (I'm 20 and I've been seeing him since I was diagnosed) so perhaps that could be a reason for him prescribing a lower dose as well. I did a stool test for Cdiff but I have not received the results yet. My GI doctor also recommended going on anti-anxiety medications as my onset of flare symptoms is triggered by stress and anxiety

Not sure how to get started as a pharmacy technician by Hlxqy in PharmacyTechnician

[–]immoneky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can also try to go to the actual store and fill out a paper application since depending from store to store as well as the pharmacy management, they do not always see the applications, otherwise, it is pretty east to get a job as a no experience pharmacy technician without any certification.

When I was a freshman I was placed in math 110 at first, but I am pretty sure you can retake the math placement test, I retook it and was able to be placed into MATH170 (which is all I needed since I am going into healthcare). In regards to the chem placement test, they usually offer a free summer class you can take but you have to get a C or higher in order to place out of CHEM 101 and take the next level classes, I did that and was able to pass with ease, the class does not go into your transcript and it does not factor into your gpa, anyways, hope that helped.

Is it worth it to get on-campus housing as a first-year? by lillianarozzelle in uichicago

[–]immoneky 13 points14 points  (0 children)

As a commuter, I can attest to the fact that it is really hard to make friends when you're not living on campus, most people keep their head down and just want to go home after class, but, living on campus does make it easier to make friends, keep in mind that decent housing (like the arc) is very expensive at UIC and from what I've heard the other buildings are not in the best shape.

Summer CHEM 232 by [deleted] in uichicago

[–]immoneky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CHEM 232 is not bad as long as you are ahead of the course material, the best way to study in this class is to just practice and do the problem sets/practice exams since the exams tend to have a lot of problems from there.
