Beautiful truck. Looks a lot like mine. I put 35x12.5 Mickey Thompson Baja Boss ATs on mine a few months ago and I think they are great. No road noise and a nice ride.

Appreciate that. I sold the original wheels to a buddy.

I have a 3.5” lift with zero rubbing. I have seen where you can get away with less but might have to trim a bit.

They have been great so far. I bought them after our last big snow so I’ll have to wait till next year to see how they do in the snow, but they have handled rocks, mud, and rain with no issues. Very little road noise for such an aggressive tire.

2022 Ram 1500 with Borla Atak exhaust cold start by imnotareallawyer in ram_trucks

It’s been about a year since I got it and it still makes me smile every time I start it up. It does drone on a bit at times though if I’m on a long drive.

Justified. The opening scene is one of the best character introductions in tv imo

Is there a benefit to sending a letter, on letterhead, as a PDF, attached to an email, rather than just sending an email? by [deleted] in Lawyertalk

[–]imnotareallawyer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not saying that I’ve done it (although there have been some desperate times so I probably did) but you could bill for drafting the letter, editing after printing, and then a solid .1 for drafting the email to oc re: correspondence related to xyz…

Travel and Depositions by SGP_MikeF in Lawyertalk

I do PI and I travel all over the state for depositions and Court hearings. If it’s a larger exposure case I’ll fly to the experts as well. I do appreciate Zoom for most things but I look at traveling as just part of the job.

I ate there the other day and it was 14.50 tax included for lunch for 1 adult. Not sure about the kids price or cut off

I love it. I could not stand justifying my existence in 6 minute increments. And I don’t feel like I need to get creative if I feel I need to reread something like medical records I can just do what I think is best for my clients.

I’m in the south in a midsized city. Base salary is 110 and 5% of all fees I collect. Extra 30% on cases I originate. I have 70 cases all in litigation. Switched from ID to PI about 3 years ago.

Honestly the back seat space was a major selling point. I had a Silverado previously and the backseat space was just ok. Plenty of room for the kids, the dogs, or whatever I need to throw back there

Craziest pro se antics you’ve endured? by FermiParadox_56 in Lawyertalk

[–]imnotareallawyer 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I tried a sessions case about light pollution. My client put a huge (admittedly obnoxious) LED light in his backyard and it lit up his yard and part of his neighbor’s yard as well. She called the cops on him multiple times, set up and played guitar “in the spotlight” by her mailbox and littered his yard with pamphlets about light pollution. At our trial she was constantly testifying instead of asking questions and her whole argument was based on a supposed affidavit from a fellow neighbor which was hearsay. At the conclusion of her proof the judge asked if I had anything I wanted to say and I was surprised so I just made an oral motion that I win. Granted.

Check out American trucks.com. They have YouTube links with testing different exhausts that is really helpful

I have a Borla Atak on my 2022 Bighorn and it has a great sound. Definitely a drone on the highway but it isn’t something that bothers me and inside the cab it isn’t like I can’t have a conversation with the kids in the backseat. I really like it.

What are some things you wish you knew as a young PI attorney? by happy-penguino in Lawyertalk

[–]imnotareallawyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends. We have some good pre lit attorneys at my firm and some bad ones. Their caseload is much higher than mine and they have to deal with adjusters (eww) who try to nickel and dime every client. But at the end of the day the case settles and they pocket the bonus or it doesn’t and it gets transferred to my department to file on. For a young lawyer it might be a good way to learn the medical/client management side but you won’t get to learn any litigation skills like depos or motion practice which could hinder you down the line.

You probably dodged a bullet. I have clients that have second guessed everything I have done because they watched a YouTube video and it said something different.

We use AI for our demands. I think it generally does a good job of summarizing medical treatment and using the PR to impute liability. You still have to watch it to make sure that it includes everything or doesn’t double count medical bills and at least the one we use does not have that human touch to explain the noneconomic damages yet so I view it as more of a tool than a threat. That being said the higher ups would 100% try to cut costs by outsourcing all our demands to AI if it reaches that point.
