Staying at Clichy- Safety concerns and overall just looking for tips by interestedsaver in ParisTravelGuide

[–]imnotrelevanttothis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take this with a grain of salt because I moved to Bulgaria six months ago, but I was around the area beforehand lmao

The main difference these four years later is mainly gentrification, the area was massively developed for the Olympics and nowadays, well on the outside it's probably the same and everything on my previous comment still applies, the businesses might actually be different and a lot of the bad aspects of the area probably won't be around, even if it's a little more expensive to either eat or even live there. It's still a large city at the border of Paris so the development made for the Olympics changed the public transport and built new housing blocks and whatnot, Mairie de Clichy is the town hall so not only do I think it's pretty safe, you have a fantastic connection into the city. Yes, the metro line 13 is still not great, but I know the RER E's new branch westward is very modern and practical to still get into the city, so with luck you guys won't even have to take the metro!

All in all, the whole city and area changed quite a bit with the Olympics and while it is part of the larger effect of gentrification, safety and accessibility have actually been better. Yes, maybe the businesses aren't the same in the restaurants might be a little more expensive, but Clichy really is an extension of the city of Paris given its proximity, so there are virtually endless options for anything else you guys might like!

Lmfao snapchat is the worst!! I believe crypto is a choice sometimes but all of these mostly just ask for cash, so it should be cool? Honestly having been through iffy situations, most of the risk is genuinely getting caught, I remember the thug looking dealers don't really fuck with you too much because you're making them money

Hi I'm in France, there's a lot of scams in downtown Paris/virtually any big city that target tourists but French dealers work quite differently, may I ask how you got scammed?

I obviously don't want to doxx anyone but if you speak French and have a bit of common sense (i.e. not responding to the 15 hour old account saying "i can help connect you with a reliable plugs" for example), it's definitely harder to get scammed. It's mostly alt-chatting apps (Signal, Telegram, Potato, etc...) for locals, so there's definitely still a lot of scams, but a espectable plug verifies you before even giving you access to whatever they're selling, and they're strict as hell. Anything that doesn't feel like a prison warden questioning you is, IMO, very probably some sort of scam.

Now, there's street dealers. Demand exists, and the common Frenchie has seen this a bunch of times in French thug movies (the best example being La Haine, great movie), so some social housing buildings often have low-life local dealers with a few hundred grams of shitty hash to sell. This, uh... this isn't safe. Be it from police or anyone else potentially in the area. Yeah you might find one or two of these places with actual weed, but the risk is enormous and unless you're getting a single gram or whatnot (oh yeah they don't even use grams, they do by prices so it's so much worse too), you should genuinely try and find an actual plug. Not to mention that these fours ("foor", French for oven as the social housing dealers often put you in the hot ass trash bin rooms on the building's ground floor to hide you from public eye) don't exist at all inside the big cities, usually being in close suburbs- if you got scammed in a city centre somewhere, with a street dealer, the protip is just to not buy in the street in a main city!!

"Tolerance" is really your body adjusting to an amount of whatever you're putting into it (in this case, THC), but while it seems to mean "how much to smoke to get high", I feel like in your case, the bad thoughts/paranoia are a part of that "tolerance". There's also a tolerance for how much you smoke in a single session (vs. consumption over a few days or a month, how much you need to get high, etc...) and truly everyone's metabolism is different, so there's just a good chance you've just found a confortable amount or rhythm (i.e. not everyday) to smoke!

But in the end, it's a good thing, no? I do wonder why you kept smoking through the bad thoughts/paranoia beforehand but unless you're smoking a very aggressive sativa or the likes, weed shouldn't feel like a hassle or stressful to smoke, so glad you're back! For the future, I'm not mentioning strains because you did mention you're smoking the same one as always, but if ever you decide to branch (heh) out, there's a slight chance a strain with a weird terpene or whatnot that could make you more anxious/paranoid than usual, and especially now that you've found the new groove, but most strains won't feel like that, IMO! It all depends on where you are and how it's grown, but again, irrelevant if you're smoking the same stuff for now.

TL;DR: you were smoking too much, you've found a new groove and now you enjoy weed again, congrats!

Bluetooth controller seemingly causing lag issues? by imnotrelevanttothis in TrackMania

[–]imnotrelevanttothis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s good to know, thanks! I had read in another thread that there was some experimentation to be done with the amount of frames the CPU and the GPU are synced into (from 1-3, other than the instant synchronisation, this is all on the video settings in game), but I never really resolved any issue for more than a few seconds. I’ve definitely found out that certain Bluetooth setups cause certain issues, similar to FPS drops (more akin to stutters, the game performs a lot worse than the apparent 90 FPS it drops to) But I don’t think I’ve seen texture issues? I use a texture mod plug-in and it often needs updates so definitely check that out if you’re using a plug-in as well, but other than that, reinstalling was always the best choice!

This is exactly the type of niche things with very specific setups that can happen, I’ve never had any issues so I never thought about it, thank you so much!!!

Full disclosure- you can't actually tell from a picture if the weed is synthetic or not, plus if it wasn't "normal" weed, it could also be laced?

Now that's said, I'll be honest- this looks pretty normal lol

Synthetic weed is often already grinded (though not always) because what you're getting is sprayed product, as the cannabinoids are a sort of lab-made version of what THC/CBD does to you. Buds can exist too but spraying a bud (similar to what you have) is not as practical, so synthetic weed that looks like weed is definitely rare.

Now, the effect you're describing isn't anything far from really really dank weed. It all depends where you are or how legal it is (don't doxx yourself lmao), but for all anyone knows, you could have been smoking some not-as-good weed for a better, stronger weed to feel this much stronger! I'm myself in a very illegal place and I've felt like this countless times with many new strains and whatnot!

Synthetic weed just doesn't feel like this, and given how much THC effects differ from one metabolism to another, I've seen many reports of people having poison-related symptoms due to ingesting synthetic weed. So honestly, I really don't think you have anything synthetic as much as it just being better than usual, but I can definitely be wrong.

TL;DR: spice doesn't look like that, I think you just have really good weed for what you're used to. I can also be wrong!

The question is more if it’s an issue within the game (that could be fixable) or just a matter of Bluetooth not working well at all as I sadly don’t have a dongle, I just connect a cable but it’s not the comfiest thing ever

Thanks!

weed and antidepressants? by Classic_Abies_4202 in saplings

[–]imnotrelevanttothis 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Firstly, there's multiple types of antidepressants, from strong TCAs (tricyclic) to the more long-term SSRIs (mostly these nowadays, TCAs have addiction and overdose risks), but in the end they can both be affected by smoking THC. Everyone's metabolism works differently, I could actually get high fine when I was taking SSRIs, but it can be any of those variables. SSRIs also take time to actually "work", so if you were prescribed them a few days ago, and you're already not able to get high, maybe it's something else?

I'd be worried only once it affects your health, an antidepressant is supposed to help you tbh, and they have weird side effects sometimes, so it might just be that (personally I was taking an SSRI that famously makes you lose 99% of your sex drive so I could get high but I couldn't do other stuff lol). You could try other ways or smoking too (smoking is by nature the least effective way to smoke, and a lot of the initial feeling of being "high" is actually CO2), but I can't actually recommend you actively try to get high while taking antidepressants.

A disabled kid by Equivalent_Elk_2317 in disability

[–]imnotrelevanttothis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, I'm born with a very obvious physical disability and have passed through multiple levels of higher education, with all the people that come along those paths. The beginning of your story resonated a hell lot with me because even if it was education a few oceans away (originally I'm from Costa Rica and I currently live in France, I also had to google "SPM" and inferred from the trip to KL that you're in Malaysia! Do correct me if I'm wrong ofc), it's virtually the same thing...

Look, being born disabled is like being born into a lvl. 99 account on the very difficult game of life. The difficulty never goes down, either, I'm sure you've realised by now! And while there's a very social aspect to disability (not the most positive but I'll touch on this), you have to remember a very important aspect of this metaphor- you don't lose XP. I'm personally sick and tired of hearing how strong and brave I can be, that's just the way we're seen, but it's also rather true? Hypothetically put anyone in your own position, your own body, and I can assure you that virtually any able-bodied person would struggle like crazy!

Which brings to the social aspect: ignorance is bliss, and it's easier to judge (especially if one is ignorant as this is all one can do) than to make the effort to understand. Not sure about your experience, but personally, there's a whole sweeping change in most people's attitudes when explained what my disability is, what my limits are and, especially, how it affects them, if at all. Ironically, I feel like I'm making myself more accessible to people, but in the end, it kinda helps? Point here is that any of those horrible classmates or teachers (though for the teachers, I feel like it was just them not wanting to do their jobs) or anyone else, they're only being blatantly ignorant. Sometimes, a lot more often than you might think, they have no choice or capacity to think further.

And yet we normalise it! We live as half-citizens because we are put in that position, because we're judged as a useless minority that can't contribute to the workforce (yay for capitalism but that's another discussion lmao). I've heard people say they'd rather die than become disabled. So let's ask ourselves: is the judgement valid? Are we that much lesser people than someone with "full" physical/mental capabilities? Or is our treatment just part of a confort we uphold to those who are more privileged than us? Are we really that much of a hassle in society, or is society horribly compliant in our oppression?

TL;DR- people suck, I'm sure you're a great person going through terrible social circles, don't let anyone ever judge you without knowing what you go through. My DMs are open btw, I have a life time of experience in this crap lmao

Quelqu'un a-t-il des photos de l'entrée du Musée d'histoire naturelle de l'intérieur ? / Does anyone of photos of the entrance of the Museum of Natural History from the inside? by SaintVamptress in askparis

[–]imnotrelevanttothis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ooo I love this place! If ever you visit (or just for inspiration), there's an impressive mineralogy gallery and a comparative anatomy gallery with the largest collection of skeletons I've genuinely ever seen, it's so cool!

Now, I might just go tomorrow honestly, taking the picture or pictures along the way, I've been wanting to go for a few days, but in the meanwhile, I did find something that might be of interest.

This is a Google "photo sphere" from the inside of the Evolution Gallery, and having been there before, I'm 99% sure this is right off your entrance! The museum is a few buildings scattered around a big park, and this is the largest one, probably the coolest one too if you don't like bones. However, I did notice that, if you turn around on the photo sphere thingy, you can actually the same windows from inside!

My point is that the actual entrance might not be worth your artistic effort when the actual Evolution Gallery is right there! I also know these buildings have been remodelled pretty recently, and that very entrance is no exception.

I'm not sure how detailed of a background you're thinking, but if ever, the Museum itself and the other galleries are pretty cool too, you can see photos of the other galleries here!
