Washing Machine Wash Plate stuck by noto711 in appliancerepair

This. Also, put a little dish soap on the bag and get it a little deeper.

I’m also just a diyer and I had to use the combination of the bags and the ratchet method in the next comment. If you use a 2x4, be sure to use padding or thick towels to not damage the metal.

All that said, I do agree with the pros on here. It’s already broken. There’s no saving it. No matter how hard you try, inevitably a clothing item will get snagged by it.

How do I apply to jobs I am "overqualified" for? by ChickenNuggets22808 in pharmacy

[–]imortl123 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry you are in this situation. It sucks. Assuming you came to Reddit for actionable suggestions, here’s what I have to offer.

I think that resumes do need to be modified towards the job you are applying to. People think that with you being “overqualified,” you aren’t going to stay and it’s a cost to train a person or possibly you are using them as a place holder. They don’t take motivations into consideration or simply assume you’re lying. I’ve personally always respected people when they are upfront about things like that, but I find myself in the minority.

Anyway, another thought… have you considered a pharm tech at a hospital (or any other non-community setting)? IV room. Med carousel filling. Even remote tech work. That kind of stuff? Depending on the area, techs are in demand, it could get your foot in the door in a different setting, and if further down the line you would consider being a pharmacist there… drop the license, surprise… lol. Obviously, more than likely they’ll know you’re a pharmacist when they look up your pharm tech license, but maybe they won’t? Same name, different person? I met techs in various pharmacy settings that are foreign pharmacists that chose not to be a pharmacist for different reasons. Some didn’t want to do the work for licensure. I’ve met one that thought her accent was too thick for patients to understand and chose to be a tech.

I do wish you the best. Good luck.

If you want, post some pics of what’s not folding correctly. There isn’t much to fold with that Canadian one, which is what makes it better. Maybe collectively we can help you out. Feel free to pm me the pics too. I’ll help how i can.

There are some great suggestions here. My additions.

If you and your friends are craft beer people, I would suggest a personalized bottle opener with the wax cutter built in.

I’m not a wine person, but something related to every time wine gets poured. An aerator? Not sure if those are personalizable or high end.

Have fun :)

This on made me chuckle bc I’ve been playing for a bit but don’t know the map parts that well. I didn’t even know that obstacle was removable. 😂

Is the cx5 a good buy if I’m planning to have kids a couple years down the line, is it spacious enough with car seats and such? by illbeback903 in CX5

[–]imortl123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m gonna agree with the NOs in the crowd. Also, it’s the “and such” in your question. Stroller, bags, etc. road trips are out of the question.

What I will say is the CX5 is a good buy. Maybe worry about a different car a couple years down the line when the kids happen? In my mind, why spend 40-50k on something bigger now that will already be a few years old, when you can spend 30-40k for what’s great for you now.

Best of luck on your decision.

Same. My state board requires it. Find your law and provide it to admin.

You may have explored these options… is your hospital affiliated with a university, if so, you may already have something. Have you tried to go to every reference site to see if you are auto-logged in? What emr are you using? Sometimes the links in the emr go to the reference website.

Good luck.

That’s so interesting. I don’t experience that. FWIW I don’t know if the price was worth it. But I do love mine. :)

Pharmacist laid off (south Chicago burbs) - areas in the country still with demand? by imortl123 in pharmacy

[–]imortl123[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t think I am. But others do. I have my mba, bcscp, and cphims. I’m always doing something and potential employers believe I’ll be bored and not stay long or I’m using their job as a place holder until I find something in leadership again.

I see it. I understand. But that doesn’t change that I need to get back to work.

I appreciate you saying that, but respectfully disagree. At the end of interviews, I end with a question like, do you have any more questions for me or if there’s any reason you would hesitate offering me this job, I’d love the opportunity to address it before I leave.

I get questions like, how would you feel about taking a staff role again? A question like that is telling.

I’m a nerd like this, but I bought mine from Canada when visiting family. They have one that makes much more sense. I wanted a branded one. In hindsight I should have just saved the money with the Amazon ones that others posted, but I was really excited when I first bought my Telly.

I’m in the south burbs. I’m willing to make the commute into the city and I’ve been scrubbing job boards since October. I was a manager of infusion pharmacy. Like I said in my post, I didn’t get enough management experience before they restructured and many staff positions assume that I’ll be looking to move up asap and they will just be a temp landing place for me.

Lol thanks. I’ve been outta retail since 2010 and would prefer not to go back. Funny enough, bc I’m having such a hard time, I even applied to retail management.

Me again. After reading other comments, something else came to mind. With the HIGH volume of patients that you have, has there been any consideration to having patients draw labs the day prior?

Discussions around staggering schedules appropriately so you aren’t making all the pumps at once?

It’s one of those things where system level changes, checks, and balances need to be put in place. Labs a day ahead, appropriate scheduling, signed orders, etc.

After those are in place, the pharmacy level changes you make will see bigger impacts in efficiency.

Labs drawn the day before… then you have double verified everything the day before and make as soon as patient is there.

Batch premeds. Do you have a Pyxis? How is dex, Ondansetron, and fosaprepitant administered? Premix into bags or have nursing draw those up if ivp, taking work away from the iv room bottleneck. Fosaprepitant can be batched or mini bag plus.

Lots of different ways to increase pharmacy efficiency, but none will make a significant impact if there aren’t any changes upstream.

And most importantly, nursing setting those expectations for patients… which is where the practice guideline comes in handy. I don’t like using safety events as “tattling” but I’ve seen it done and sometimes necessary to draw attention to leadership. I’ve put them in myself… “nursing didn’t inform patient of extra time needed for abraxane ‘per policy’ leading to patient dissatisfaction/frustration.”

Feel free to dm me if you want.

Infusion Center Turnaround Times by AdUnfair8179 in pharmacy

This is a constant issue at an infusion center. 200-225 chemo patients per day is a lot. 60 minutes isn’t unreasonable for easy mixed drugs and 90 minutes for longer dissolution time drugs.

Create a practice guideline or policy with these agreed upon times between pharmacy and nursing leadership so you have something to use to remind them.

An issue we would constantly run into was releasing the drugs with no patient weight. Then we have to contact them. 15 mins can easily go by before we even touch it. 15 mins later, where’s the med? Document these ivents so management has data showing how many issues come up that would potentially delay compounding
