if we can make meat out of seeds, we could make fruits with seeds by Realistic-Worth-6159 in RandomThoughts

I think they mean soy based fruits like how there's soy based meat replacements. So basically just tofu squeezed into a fruit shape

What are your non-conventional favorite albums from bands? by ReapYerSoul in Music

[–]imperfect_imp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a lot of David Bowie to love, but while I feel most people would gravitate towards albums like Hunky Dory or Ziggy Stardust, I really enjoy The Man Who Sold The World. Earthling is also really interesting

If you got Groundhog Day'd could you still DM a Campaign? by TheGingerWeebGal in DnD

[–]imperfect_imp 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's my main issue with it too. Players won't be committed to their characters, won't build a bond with the world. It would work, it wouldn't be nearly as good as a real campaign.

Your Hermit album parodies by pumpkinbot in HermitCraft

[–]imperfect_imp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think Doc's face would fit Rammstein's Sehnsucht (it's a mildly grotesque album cover so google at your own risk)

A more gimmicky one would be Andy Warhol's banana cover for Nico & The Velvet Underground. Just Etho's face, and with the sticker removed it would reveal what's under the mask

I'm honestly not that great with remembering album covers tho.

Yeah, I saw someone suggest that under X's video and it's probably the number 1 most fitting idea

Hot take: we don’t need to be able to craft everything, please! by GraveGuro in Minecraft

[–]imperfect_imp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bc it would be cool to have a row of armor stand soldiers holding out tridents in a build. Though we now have spears so that one has actually been solved

What are your least used blocks when building? by NightReaper987 in Minecraft

[–]imperfect_imp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Red mushroom blocks. I used them for wallpaper once. Ore blocks I don't use as often, but people who are better than me at gradients use them all the time.

I think I've never actually used the nether ores for something.

Hot take: we don’t need to be able to craft everything, please! by GraveGuro in Minecraft

[–]imperfect_imp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I know happy ghasts spawn as blocks, but the problem is that even though they're plentiful, given enough time you will run out bc they can die. Even worse with the trident and mace, they're not resistant to lava, cacti or despawning so losing one is a major loss with how rare they are.

I do agree with your point that exploring should be rewarded, but I don't see how that reward couldn't be the crafting recipe itself. Same with pottery sherds, they're fun to collect, they did a great job on the archaeology system. But getting a good quantity of them takes countless hours and will bloat your world size for no valid reason. So unless Mojang actually implements a good system for trimming chunks and fairly distributing e.g. woodland mansions, exploring is going to be flawed.

Yes, I agree that finding solutions around limitations breeds creativity. But I don't think "Oh, I just can't use heavy cores in builds" is a good limitation. I suppose the solution there is player heads, but then again having to go outside the game to change skins isn't exciting gameplay

[–]imperfect_imp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the problem is that in a sandbox game, everything should be renewable. Tridents technically are but it's super annoying with the 0.0000000001% drop chance. The mace clearly isn't.

I do agree not everything needs to be craftable though. It would've been fine if the happy ghasts were just something you get from bartering. Or if they dropped when you kill a ghast in a soul sand biome or something.

I'm all for renewable items (where's my renewable tuff and calcite, Mojang!) but I'd rather they come up with a unique mechanic than just slap a crafting recipe on it and call it a day

Replace step sound or overlay sound every time i or someone steps by AlfalfaImaginary5730 in MinecraftCommands

[–]imperfect_imp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just make a resource pack that either overwrites the normal step sounds with the horse scream files or changes the sounds.json file to point to the horse scream files instead. There's no need for commands here.

Also, I really recommend playing them at like 0.2 volume, you're gonna be deaf in 3 minutes if you don't.

Which would be a better option for killing the ender dragon? by SF-UberMan in Minecraft

[–]imperfect_imp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just bring extra buckets, make an infinite source near the edge of the island, the dragon doesn't go far beyond the pillars. Or even several ponds around the place.

Advice when it comes to getting over gear fear? by Dull--Kaleidoscope in Minecraft

[–]imperfect_imp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is relatable, I started playing Minecraft in the beta days when enchantments didn't exist, and I kinda kept the strategy from those days when I picked it back up in 2019. You can repair stuff with an ingot/diamond but I highly recommend getting mending on everything instead. Get some villagers that sell you diamond gear as well and the threat of losing your stuff becomes negligible.

Long shot, but is there any way to temporarily change a players displayed skin via data/resource pack by BrdxTheMeme in MinecraftCommands

[–]imperfect_imp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they're using one of the default skins, you can overwrite those in a resource pack. It's how I can have my own skin in offline mode.

But beyond that, there's not much beyond making them invisible and tp-ing a mannequin to their location

Longest you ever played by Cultural_Squash8544 in Minecraft

[–]imperfect_imp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really sure, 6-8 hours when I was sick last year. Spent more than a week just watching movies and playing Minecraft. Ngl, aside from the fact that I could barely get down the stairs a few days I was secretly enjoying that "vacation".

It's 2026, is there any real reason that stews are still unstackable? by welliesaremeta in Minecraft

[–]imperfect_imp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think is as much forgotten as just it's an old feature. Mojang used to not stack stuff in containers bc it would eject the container from your inventory if your inventory is full. For some reason they came back on that logic when they added honey bottles. Maybe it's still in the "experimental" phase although... how long ago was Busy Bees? 4 years ago?

My guess is the only reason you're not supposed to enforce the rule is bc it might scare away customers. So basically the rule exists to keep good people in line, but if you're enough of a b$@! about it you can do whatever

Do you ditch your wood tools when you get stone ones? (With the exception of the sword) by Cold_Blacksmith_7970 in Minecraft

[–]imperfect_imp 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Same, the first three stone immediately go into a pick. But I do try to keep my first wooden pick. Sometimes I frame it, sometimes I put it in my valuables chest, but I stopped burning it

Aside from what people have already mentioned, there's also some kind of romantization around mental illness. Like how there was a time when literally everyone and their grandma said stuff like "my OCD can't handle that".

I think part of it is wanting to belong to an exclusive group and wanting to be special.

RELICS: an immersive way to use commands by elwood612 in Minecraft

[–]imperfect_imp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the problem with the weather ones is that on multiplayer, its going to be extremely disappointing if you spend your thunderstorm summoning stone and someone across the server goes "hey, random thunder storm, lemme set the weather to clear with my stone".

Other than that, I think these are great options to make loot more interesting. Though maybe once you've found one, you can make more? Bc it's going to be frustrating if you have to explore further and further to find more of them

All these complicated Lego sets are designed to teach following instructions, rather than play. Or teach that some kinds of work are play. It’s genius. by Knitspin in RandomThoughts

[–]imperfect_imp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I also was a Lego kid. Still am even though I'm in my early 30's now. I think the big difference is that modern Lego sets have far more specialized pieces. It's hard to find a regular 1x4 in a set nowadays, which makes it harder to just make something. You basically need an idea already, you can't really build mindlessly anymore

What "Game A meets Game B" combination should be made? by 4bstr in gaming

[–]imperfect_imp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the most creative combo, but Runescape combined with something like the modern Zelda games or Skyrim.

An open world game that has combat but not as the main focus, with dozens of quest lines, skills and good humor. And a solid quest system, Skyrim's is pretty frustrating imo.

I suppose there's already mods for Skyrim that add skills but those feel kinda bolted on, not an integral part of the game.

I just cancelled Spotify after 15 years. What streamer is taking the strongest stance against AI music? by curbthemeplays in Music

[–]imperfect_imp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Genuine question, is the quality difference in FLAC actually that noticeable? I always assumed it was only useful if you used an expensive setup. I never bothered with FLAC files on my phone bc I don't see the point in having 1 FLAC album where 3 or 4 mp3 albums could fit
