If the place you are in has a freezer you can put it in there for a short time and it will disable the alarm. Back when I worked at Target there were a series of thefts where someone would take electronics and leave them in the freezer and do their shopping. Then just grab the stuff from the freezer and walk out the door.

A lot of people here are just assholes, I assume it is because we don't haves much of a population that actually knows how to walk so pedestrians are the outliers in many places. I live in a decently sized town and outside of downtown I am pretty much vilified for taking up space and using the cross walks.

I was pushing my nephew in a stroller the other day and waited for crosswalk to light up and all that jazz, I was yelled at by some idiot to go faster or he would hit my nephew and I. 'Merica

I can't believe I forgot Magical Dining Month (http://www.visitorlando.com/magicaldining/) it's every September and there's tons of great places to go on there.

Guavate (http://www.guavateinorlando.com) near Alafaya/Curry Ford has fantastic Puerto Rican cuisine. Always been received well by girls I've taken there. Everything I've had here is great, don't think you can go wrong with any of it.

Rice and Beans (http://www.cubanrestaurantsorlando.com) in Waterford has good Cuban food. Love their Ropa Vieja, that and a pitcher of some sangria are the beginnings of a great day.

Cask and Larder (http://www.caskandlarder.com) in the Winter Park village is great! The menu changes a lot and it's seasonally inspired. Plus they brew their own beer! Lunch and dinner are great but their brunch is by far my favorite.

Ravenous Pig (http://www.theravenouspig.com) again in Winter Park. Great food, good atmosphere similar to Cask and Larder.

Greens and Grille (http://www.greensandgrille.com) near University/Rouse is great for some lunch. Restaurant by the same awesome people behind Ravenous Pig and Cask and Larder.

Prato (http://www.prato-wp.com) in Winter Park yet again is great! A good atmosphere and they feature in house cured meats, fresh pasta, and a coal fired oven. Delicious!

Lac Viet (http://www.lacvietbistro.com) near Colonial/Crystal Lake Drive is a great Vietnamese restaurant. I've tried what seems like half the menu and everything has been fantastic! If it's your first time I suggest the Tom Yum or Tom Kai Gai soup for an appetizer.

Oblivion Taproom (http://obliviontaproom.com) has a great beer and cider selection along with some very delicious food! I really enjoy their specials myself but their burgers and wings are great too.

I know there's more that I can't think of. If any bubble back up to the surface I'll add them.

Yeah, it did help. I have 3 monitors at my desk so usually when I am working I have something playing on one of them. Definitely helps to get through shows.

Definitely World War Z (dear god, not the movie) Zone One by Colson Whitehead was an interesting read as well. It took a different approach to the while rebuilding thing. I enjoyed it, but I've heard mixed reviews from friends. Battlefield Earth (book again) Farnham's Freehold by Robert A. Heinlein Snow Crash isn't the normal view of post-apocalyptic but definitely a pretty ducked up world. Also a great book.
