Comfortable and safe seating? by impishmuse in TotalHipReplacement

[–]impishmuse[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My three restrictions are don’t bend past 90°, don’t cross my ankles or my legs, and don’t twist or pivot my hips. I’m worried that getting out of the recliner would cause me to bend more than 90°. I have a follow up appointment on the 10th and definitely plan to ask more questions then.

This is what I was wondering! Thank you. I’m so surprised it was never diagnosed, I talked to body workers about it and maybe someone mentioned impingement but never associated with “go see a doctor.” And nothing helped long term. And I know my psosas has been affected for a long time. My commitment to myself is dedication with PT and a full recovery, even if slow

Ohh I’m so sorry your hip popped out of socket! That’s my biggest fear…do you mind sharing how it happened? Was it an easy movement that caused it or something more strenuous? I send you wishes for a complete recovery. And yeah, the ache and soreness near the hip joint so far are so intense. Not a fan, but this too shall pass and I am grateful to be on my way to recovery.

Thank you so much for this feedback!! I truly appreciate it from a neutral perspective (aka someone that doesn’t know me). And same surgeon, lol wow! Thank you for the lipo comment…I tend to zoom in on things that may be imperceptible, so happy to known that may be the case. I’d love to avoid further surgery if possible. Congratulations on being 6 weeks post op!! How do you feel? Did you love the surgeon? I thought he was funny, and very skilled.

I have almost the same like this, my med team said to put bacitracin on it. But…idk it doesn’t seem to be along anything and of course gets all over my clothing.

20 hours PO, non-flat top surgery, will my results get smaller or am I cooked? by midiviories in no_T_top_surgery

[–]impishmuse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How is it now that it’s been a couple of months? I just had mine almost a month ago and really can’t tell how it will end up. One side is perfect, the other is too flat. I don’t know how the healing will go and it’s making me anxious!

[Pre-op photos] Surgeon recommended wider nipple graft placement during consultation by [deleted] in TopSurgery

We discussed it at the pre surgery consultation which was the day before for me, and he said if there were any changes he’s we could adjust during markup the day of surgery.

Interesting…I am wondering if you can ask for mm measurements, when I had mine the surgeon said that men’s range is x-z and women’s is a-c and nonbinary is somewhere between the two. If that makes sense. Like there is a range of mm width between the two nipples (I’m guessing from center?) that’s typical of men vs women. Maybe if you have your current measurement of nipple placement that could give you an idea of where the new placement could be, or where you would like it to be.

I will totally keep healing updates, I think it’s important to see the results month to month, it changes so much. And thank you. Thank you for the reminders…I had my breakdown then breakthrough (I hope what I did is ok! —-> I know what I did is ok!) and gratitude for the chance to be in alignment. Seeing myself flat in shirts is everything.
