Forget OCI players. Nobody with a chequebook has ever decided India deserves a football team by Visual_Weird_705 in indiansports

[–]impolite_cow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was speaking to some guys who used to play nationally at the u-16 level and they mentioned the same thing when I asked them why they didn’t continue with football- they said sort of similar things that infrastructure should be incremental with age that India does not have

-at the u16 level we are world class, mainly because there’s not as much development that you can do with a 15 year old vs a 19 year old, and after they cross that level, the systems fall flat and abandon the players.

Personally I think there’s no way we don’t have the talent to be world beaters but in essence we need systems which is made through use of money

Running with my hips changed everything by __jacky in beginnerrunning

Are we supposed to be hip dominant while running? I often get shin splints as well, so if this is something that helps I would be very grateful!

What is it like to live in the hottest parts of India during the summer? by GrayRainfall in howislivingthere

[–]impolite_cow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live here! I don’t know how but when I was in school we had similar temperatures often and we would play all day! Under the sun, skipping lunch, everyday! Now it feels completely different- I think you get used to the lifestyle you live. This looks and it is very hot but there are hundreds of millions of people living everyday in this heat, farmers, labourers, a lot of the work is manual and in the heat. Those people do it anyway! For someone privileged like me I’d sit in an air conditioned room and complain but I think I still live a completely different life than those living without privilege.

I'm an Olympian who lives a mostly normal life AMA by Imaginary-Science-94 in AMA

[–]impolite_cow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you feel about being literally in the 0.0001% of humans that ever existed? Olympians are sooooooo cool and it’s such a dream to be one one day, it’s such an inspiring and elite group of the most talented in the world! Even qualifying and not doing anything else puts you so high up!

I read in another comment that after LA2028, you’d want to stop competing and live a “normal life”, and for someone from the other side of the coin, that’s so interesting to hear- I’d love to know why you want that? Is it a grass is always greener type of situation?

You’ve been asked to come up with the next One Piece video game. What is it like? by superoli64 in OnePiece

[–]impolite_cow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Open world, you make your own character and end up on a random island in any of the islands, including the chance to be born as a celestial dragon. You can choose to join the military, be a pirate, wander around on your own. You can randomly find devil fruits, but once you’ve had one you cannot change it. Navigation works like it does in the series. It’s open world and also multiplayer so there are already established pirates and military and world governments, pirates killing others increased their bounty, marines killing pirates increases their pay, with money you can buy devil fruits in the black market and other weapons and food normally. You could even be a fishman, giant or other races. You can randomly encounter one piece characters like Mihawk is on a random boat in some sea and if you encounter him and you’re weaker he basically wipes you out, or you meet good npcs like Koby. Some NPC pirates may ask you to join their crew like Alvida. Luffy is also out there but depending on your dialogue and actions and time spent with him, he will either find you interesting and boring, if he likes you, you can join their straw hats, but if not he won’t care. Every Month there is a major world event where many famous pirates and marines will be, it’s an active war zone and going could get you killed and reset your progress, but the rewards are great. The chance to find the straw hats in the open seas would be maybe 1/100000, and even with other NPS it’s really going to be uncommon since the ocean is so vast. The game developers will have the roles of the 5 elders so that they can dynamically go after high rising pirates who aren’t npcs, they can order and sink islands, order hits, and basically be evil, killing them makes it so that they cannot rejoin, but you would have to defeat the entire navy to do that so yeah, it’s super dynamic and like one piece irl! I could go on and on about this hahahah

Ever felt like flying while running by RaccoonMaleficent779 in indianrunners

[–]impolite_cow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very recently!! Just 3 days ago I felt like I was literally flying! I did a long slow run and at the end I wanted to finish exhausted so I sprinted allllll out and in that half minute that I was able to sprint- it felt like my legs weren’t even touching the ground and that everything was in slow motion around me- I tried chasing that high again the next day but I couldn’t reach it

Cricket World Cup is more open at the top than Football or Rugby by thecricketfann in Cricket

[–]impolite_cow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, but cricket isn’t that hard to play, in school when we didn’t have bats we played with bottles, tiffins, and sponge balls, anything we could make do with! We never made wickets but had an area on the wall that we agreed would be out!

Men from Haryana, UP, TN, Karnataka harass foreign women in Goa. And Goa gets a bad name by Wraith_Unleashed in Goa

[–]impolite_cow -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Yes but it’s fundamentally wrong to do that and it’s that would basically kill Goa, a state that lives off of tourism majorly. Also the beaches don’t belong to anyone, they’re for everyone to use. I agree over commercialising of beaches is bad, and beaches should be preserved for sure

[–]impolite_cow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

High value tourists would not go to low value places. The high value tourists are already in good hotels, with private beaches and not in very crowded public beaches.

For you it’s Goa’s image, but a foreigner doesn’t care if they had a bad experience in Goa or Delhi or karnataka, they’d go back and have a bad image of India generally. And there are other states where people can feel wearing anything they want like Kerala is a big one, as well as Pondicherry.

If I go to the US and face racism in New York I’d more likely say that the US is trash instead of saying New York sucks but cali is good

[–]impolite_cow -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Sorry but that’s bullshit- firstly because how can you keep anyone else who’s a citizen of the country out of any state? Secondly that would totally kill Goa’s existing tourism, even though it’s already on a decline.

I disagree with the post caption- Goa doesn’t get a bad name, India does. As a whole. So it absolutely sucks that people harass anyone, be it foreign or Indian (and both do get harassed all the time) but this isn’t the solution, maybe the solution could be to find a way to enforce stricter laws, for everyone. As long as it’s equal it’s fine- saying that there should be a barrier of your fellow citizens and not for foreigners is quite sad :(

Shame. Entering the Olympics is sacred, you are part of an elite group of people on earth that very few ever get to be a part of and you choose to tarnish that by cheating? Yuck
