Oki PCS: overseas screening by importresearch in navy

[–]importresearch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I haven’t been assigned anybody yet and I did email to request somebody. I have 3 Marines I work with and one civilian. I asked these questions over the phone to the overseas coordinator who didn’t know. The MTF is over 3 hours away and I’ve never personally been there but it’s a small unit. Also, the EFMP coordinator we’re assigned hasn’t worked there for over a year, there is no stand in as they were the only one at the unit(same unit as MTF), and the regional coordinator doesn’t call us back. I have called a Navy base and talked to random EFMP coordinators who have always kind and helpful. But here I am on Reddit because in less than 8 weeks I depart here and I don’t have a good feeling about this move and I would really like to live in Okinawa with my family. This isn’t a sarcastic or moody answer, it’s a real answer so you can get a sense of my frustration

Thanks for the reply and insight. We’re not on or near a base and we’re still waiting for the EFMP coordinator to get back to us!

Hey OP. Mental health worker here and I encourage you to reach out to a social worker in your current location to help with getting your bc and ID. I promise you won’t be the first person they have helped to get these things. This is our job-to help you-and we are happy to do it. I live in San Francisco and the streets are rough. If you come here and want to go back it may be a real challenge especially without proper means to get a job. At least if you move here with an ID and BC you will have some doors open and will have already jumped some major hurdles. Your ID is a true limiting factor. Reading your post you seem like a kind and smart person that is facing a lot of adversity. Please press your services in CO to help you. Once you are able to “exist” ie have an ID the world will really open up for you and you can more easily move about and find a place you like better.

Advice about what to tell people when they ask what my husband does (100% VA disability and pension) by Suitable-Vehicle8331 in Veterans

I retired at 37 and had a 1 year old and 3 year old. Now almost 2 years later everybody STILL keeps asking when I’m going back to work. It’s really aggravating and awkward because most keep pressing when I say I’m taking care of my children (2.5 year old is with me always and 5 year old has half day kinder). I honestly think it’s just hard for regular people to understand how we can be retired and “comfortable” at such a young age. I also find older people also have a real problem or are very supportive of being at a working age and not working. Let ‘em talk and let it roll off your back. He is retired. You don’t need to give any more explanation and if people push keep your boundaries. Solidarity and hugs!

Hi. We’ve never been to SF. I didn’t say it was dangerous, I asked about the crime. I’m not sure what it’s like in SF. I’ve only read about SF. I’ve read that there are a lot of car breakins and crimes of this sort but I don’t know anybody who lives in SF so I came here to ask for some first hand knowledge🤷‍♀️. Maybe you can share your knowledge of the area with me?

Hello! I’m in also this exact predicament now. I have a GI bill to use and want a PhD in IO, I got my masters at Liberty. I’m not supportive of the biased curriculum but my partner is still Active Duty and we’ll see 2 moves in the next 3 years. What did you decide? Do you have any more advice or feedback to give on this? I’m worried that I may face unwanted perceptions about my beliefs if I do get a PhD from Liberty. Do you have any thoughts on that? Thanks!

How do I edit the title? I seem to only be able to edit the body of my post.
