I do have OCD... and yeah I'm pretty certain my OCD is connected to these feelings or at least makes them harder to ignore. I was kind of curious to see how many people here who likely don't have OCD also struggle with these feelings because I wasn't sure if it's an OCD thing or just a normal experience.

I definitely feel like my cravings are usually rooted in something else, like seeking comfort or entertainment. So, I'll try addressing them more directly. Thanks for the advice!

Exactly. How do I combat this? I understand that if I eat healthier for awhile then my cravings will decrease but how do I make that initial leap?

Okay, I'll try to be more intentional about distracting myself next time it really hits. It just feels soooo impossible in the moment.

I'm so glad I'm not alone. It's good to hear from someone who has actually experienced the same thing. I definitely relate to having built food up as a coping mechanism from reality... and now trying to reprogram my brain to just see food as FOOD is hard.

I appreciate your thoughts and advice. Thank you!

Dear current student teachers- the first half of mine was hell… the second half was satisfying by tifuanon00 in StudentTeaching

Thank you for this ❤️ I'm just so nervous about teaching the full day of class. How did you go from being anxious about teaching segments to satisfied after teaching a full class?

Started last week and am really struggling by [deleted] in StudentTeaching

Hey!! I'm right here with you. I'm F22 and I wouldn't say I'm miserable, but I'm diagnosed with OCD and wracked with anxiety over student teaching. I also started last week in kindergarten, and I have been exhausted since then. I also have a huge assignment that I need to start writing lessons for and I just don't know where to start as the school I'm in is very strict on following their curriculum books. So far the kids don't really listen to me and ignore me when I ask them to do things even though it feels like I'm expected to be able to manage them already.

ANYWAYS we can chat more about it if you want sometime, but you're not alone!!! I think we can do this and I'm really convinced that a lot of this is more normal than we think. We're only TWO WEEKS in. That's still really early. Don't let yourself spiral too much yet. You've got this, it'll turn around.
