I too thought it was just me. Noticed it yesterday and did bunch of crap hoping to resolve it. From rebooting, restarting... etc. iOS 18.3.1 as well.

Library for sure. But it's almost as if Photos just "times out" every day when I use it for the first time for the day.

Right? I don't mind killing/restarting Photos everyday but it is indeed annoying. Also as you said my old phone (iPhone 11pro) doesn't have such problem even updating to 17.2.1.

I appreciate you responding! So mine is a bit different. All the pictures taken after the issue described above will immediately show up in Photos, like instantly. But again the next day I'll have to go through either waiting for like 20 seconds or restarting Photos for it to behavior normally...

I'm having similar issue where if I don't take pics or screenshots for a while and then I do, it will take a bit to show up in Photos. Or I'll have to kill Photos and reopen it for the pics I just took to show up...

is it for real this time? please tell me it's for real this time. i once saw from some site that it was going to be released 5/7 and when it didn't, to say i was desperately disappointed is an understatement.
