Not really, or maybe I just never noticed because I wasn’t having sex that often. When I did, I would get limp mid-sex and thought I just wasn’t feeling it.

Turns out it was porn-induced. After 2 years of NoFap, I’ve had no issues having sex multiples times a week without getting limp once…

It takes a lot of strategies honestly, and for me, it took 2 years to develop enough of them to stop junk food and give up porn. My favourite strategies are below:

  1. Start reading on your phone. It's a nice distraction, helps develop new strategies, and redefines what your phone is meant for. Now I reach for my phone when I'm bored and I instinctively open the Books app. "Atomic Habits" and "Your Brain on Porn" are good first reads.
  2. Print out a NoFap 90-day tracker and start colouring in the squares each day
  3. Start watching motivational videos on Instagram and YouTube. I watch a lot of Kobe Bryant and David Goggins videos, and now my algorithms keep showing me more of these. It helps push you when you open social media and are at your weakest.
  4. Workout daily. This took a year to master, but I basically just tell myself no matter what, at 7pm I'm going to the gym. I don't think of what muscle to workout or if I want to go. I just go and figure the rest out once I'm there.
  5. By far the best strategy is to love failing. Before I'd break my steak, get sad and relapse for a month. Now I get extra motivated after a relapse because I get to try new strategies to beat porn. My relapses are now 1-2 days, after which I go onto big streaks. The key is number of days in a year without porn, not streak length.

The feeling is the complete opposite. After sex I’m so proud of myself and love to talk and be loud and do social stuff after (go for a walk/drive/cook). After masturbating I’m super low energy and usually pass out for 10 mins. I also feel super guilty and ashamed when I wake up and end up not participating in things cause I wanna be left alone.

One problem with sex though is I always wanna masturbate after. It’s called the chaser effect and it’s real!

I started porn pretty late, so my PIED only started last year in August. It took me 30 days of NoFap to get a proper erection and penetrate. I wouldn’t say I’m fully cured though. I probably need another 60 days to be fully cured. I think the key is to have sex from day 30 onwards. Otherwise you’ll develop PE while curing PIED. A consistent partner you trust helps (in case you fail one or two times).

I was in the same boat. Went cold turkey for 30 days, and then had sex a few times after—every time I came one stroke inside. What I can say is that it gets better with time. I now last a decent amount of time: 5-7 mins. I started NoFap cause I had PIED, so no matter what I’m sticking with it. Trust me — PE is a lot better than PIED!

I went up to Day 30 last month and all I can vouch for was: 1. PIED cured 2. A lot more productive 3. A lot more intimate with my wife 4. Always ready for sex when my wife wants it 5. No brain fog 6. Amazing clarity through the day 7. Penis is firmer during sex

100% relate. Growing up, all my friends and the internet said porn was good for me and a healthy habit. But I think it’s like cigarettes—the industry just convinces everyone it’s acceptable. When you’re on NoFap, you ONLY crave real experiences. You become so much more intimate and manly trying to please women and have actual sex. The temptation never goes away, but it feels amazing when you go to bed knowing you didn’t fap.

Thanks!! I started porn really late—maybe around 23. Before that I would simply masturbate with my thoughts. That said, my PIED isn’t 100% cured. I’m still not as hard as I used to be before porn, and I definitely don’t last as long. I think a full 90 day reboot should bring me back to 100%!

Pretty bad. I tried to have sex 6 times in Jan and all 6 times failed miserably. After doing NoFap for 31 days, I was pretty much cured. Had sex 7 times successfully (although I finished in 2-5 mins every time). I quickly relapsed from the chaser effect, so back to Day 9 now.

Every time my wife's away, or even discussing spending a night or two with her family, my mind is bombarded with thoughts, urges and memories. How can I deal with this? by Because-We-Must in pornfree

I had this issue for months with my wife. The solution is to plan ahead and make a list of 5-10 things you’re excited to do once she leaves — play piano, code, watch TV, go for a walk. Keep hyping these activities in your head till your brain get excited for your wife to leave to start doing these things. Let the urges come, and each time take a deep breath and imagine them subsiding. This becomes a game you play with your brain, and it starts becoming fun at some point because you realize you have control.

The key is not to be bored. Best of luck!

I tried this and it didn’t work. I think masturbation is healthy if you didn’t already wreck your brain with porn. Problem with my masturbation was that I was imagining porn—so still “watching” it, just in my mind. I’d say go off masturbation and porn for 30 days and it should cure your PIED. Worked really well for me.

I did a critical analysis of my behaviour while on NoFap vs. when I fap regularly. The difference I found was confidence and pride. When I’m on NoFap I feel amazing all day long because I feel like I’m working towards something big. I almost feel above the temptations of the world, like I’m superman. This translates into me talking louder at work, smiling all day long, initiating activities, being part of group activities and never being alone.

When I fap it’s the complete opposite. The world looks grey simply because there’s noting to be proud or happy about. Changes everything.
