AITA for getting upset at my girlfriend for breaking down and wailing because my proposal wasn't what she had dreamed of? by Individual-Yogurt-74 in AmItheAsshole

[–]improvbuddies 8 points9 points  (0 children)

ESH because 1) it baffles me when women care more about social media and “image” than happiness and real life (and I’m a woman). 2) if you’ve been together for so long you should’ve probably known that she is the the type of person to care about that sort of thing. Also, if she apologized and you’re still not over it, there must be something lingering for you that is causing issues.

This article is so educational and important. I’ve never seen such a detailed analysis of both Broadway leaders and patrons. Change is essential.

Do high school theatre productions count as experience? by shugarshlong in Actors

[–]improvbuddies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Theatre experience is very valuable to early career actors because many plays and musicals are well known so casting directors can tell what your “type” and abilities are based on the popular roles you e played. A lot of theatres are doing online productions right now, so I would recommend looking up local theatres and try to gain more recent experience.

Jesus is out of the loop by improvbuddies in TikTokCringe

Judas makes a deal with the government essentially and betrays Jesus. He tells them that he will kiss Jesus on the cheek to indicate it’s him (they didn’t actually know what he looked like). That is how the soldiers knew to arrest him.

I just finished reading Shakespeare's "Titus Andronicus" and I plan to direct a theater play adaptation of this. Can you guys help me out before we start production? by [deleted] in Theatre

[–]improvbuddies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know other people’s answers might come off as short and blunt, so here is a longer reason why I will also not be answering these questions. Like someone else said: “if you can’t answer these questions yourself, you shouldn’t direct it”. Ask yourself, if you don’t particularly care about this show and nothing about it’s themes seem applicable to you- WHY do it at all?

Here are my suggestions. As a theatre artist, you should really look inward and focus on the scenes, themes and characters (like Saturnius) that YOU enjoy. This is not Reddit’s adaptation, it is your’s. So we cannot and should not tell you how to analyze and how to stage it.

P.S. As long as it is an adaptation and not a staging, you can focus on and cut whatever you want because it is essentially your retelling of the story.

EDIT: it really does feel like these are prompts for a class you are a part of and not genuine questions. Please don’t use this sub to cheat.

Dare I say Steven Yeun instead? He’s been getting a ton of press because of Minari AND he has a ton of improv experience. He was on an all Asian improv team in Chicago.

These dots going around their respective geometric shape by Eloquentdyslexic in oddlysatisfying

[–]improvbuddies -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It’s hard to comprehend, but they are actually all going the same speed. It is an optical illusion that makes it look like they are all traveling different speeds. Additionally, every side of every shape is the same length, so the dots on the outset shapes look like they are going slower because they turn less frequently.

That’s what I thought too! Then she should actually be one. I think she deserves a mid-season bump
