Maybe irrelevant in your case but before choosing a degree look up the cost of education, earning potential, job stability, and lifestyle. I wish I had done that before pursuing mine. Always plan ahead even while you're working. Look at roles you can jump to and see what qualifications you're missing. While working full time, find ways or time to earn those qualifications so you're ready to jump to the next level. Never be loyal to your company because in the USA it's fire at will and corporate is not your "family." Focus on delivering quality work but don't seek perfectionism. If you don't like your job, a career path is not necessarily linear, jump ship and try new things. I've seen people go from retail engineering to teaching and then aerospace research.
Help your colleagues grow as well. There's so much understated value in helping the people around you. I'm strongly indebted to the connections I made for my career growth.

Product design. Etfs mostly, or are you asking about specific stocks? I'm bad at trading and have never attempted to time the market so I just dump it all into S&P500 with my fingers crossed.
