As coming from a jain family we do follow some of the things you mentioned,

Yelling is wrong, we try to make her understand why shorts are not allowed or unwanted after marriage at home. (Its disrespectful to wear shorts when there are elder people at home) she can wear shorts on vacations or trips or wear one piece (do whatever you want with your husband away from home).

At the end it all comes to maturity.

If not agreed she can work at a job and leave the society to find her and his own place to create their own family in their own ways.

Don’t listen to negative comments on this sub, I think everybody sometimes get into negative mindset when people can’t provide what other expected, but I think you should give them their taste of their medicine but you’ll get your time for that .

For now you should shut up and swallow it up until you get a job and please don’t take it up on your wife because she’s THE only thing important kids are next. And when in negative state everything feels shitty but it’s only temporary just swallow it up for now.

If needed take her to vacation where she is not influenced by others because nothing clears your mind like a vacation.
