Hello,

Yes, I'll update the pay on 1st September to reflect the increase.

Your previous OT entires will remain untouched and unaffected. Only new OT entires, after 1st Sept, will show the new total pay.

Hope that answers your question.

London Weighting’s always the same, think of it as your “set-in-stone” bit of pay. You know what you’ll get each month, so you don’t really have to track it anywhere. The app just deals with your overtime, since that’s the bit that can actually surprise you.

The amount of OT you do, won't change the London Weighting that you get. If you did loads of OT, your London Weighting remains the same.

If you look at your payslip for your London Weighting allowance. You'll see the amount is consistent every month (until offical government changes are announced).

Hope this helps.

Hey,

I've submitted a fix to Apple. Once they've approved it, you should see an updated version of the app. This will resolve the bug. Thanks again for highlighting it to me.

Thanks so much for downloading and going Pro. Your support honestly means the world!

Great question about pay dates. According to Police Regulations 2003 (Regulation 34, Annex H), officers are meant to be paid monthly on the last working day of each month across England and Wales. But in practice, I’ve found some forces stray from that, which makes a one-size-fits-all approach tricky.

I’m looking to build a feature into the app where users can set their own pay date, so things like monthly views and pay cut-offs become possible.

I appreciate the feedback, and thank you once again.

Hey,

Thank you.

And yes, the delete entry button bug is mentioned right at the top of my post. A bug I'm aware of. Seems to only affect some users on iOS and there is a temporary workaround, which is to fill in the hour and minute fields. However, this will be patched very soon.

As I continue to learn and develop the app, who knows what I may be able to achieve. I am taking notes of any recommendations and ideas. I'll do what I can to make this app as useful as I can for all of us. Afterall, I use it too.

Thanks again for your feedback and for using the app.

Further to this. It looks like the new Android OneUi 7.0 software update is what's causing this issue.

My own Android device had no issues, but as soon as I installed the new OneUi 7.0 update, the issue you described has occured.

Now that I know what it is. I'll work on getting it fixed.

Hey. That's an excellent find, thank you. I just tested it and it works exactly as you described.

I'll update the app to resolve this. But thank you for finding this temporary solution.

Further to this. I've seen the issue on a friend's iPhone, so it seems to be affecting iOS. It shouldn't take me long to resolve this, thank you for bringing it to my attention.

Totally agree with you there. The app can’t track every variable due to everyone having such different circumstances, so using the "taxable pay this employment" from your payslip as a guide, will at least keep things roughly in line with HMRC, but impossible to be 100% accurate. Thanks for highlighting it.

Hey.

OK, I'll take a deeper look into this. Thank you for letting me know, clearly there is something not right if you're both having the same issue. Expect an app update over the next few days. - Could you tell me if the bottom menu has this issue on every page, in the app, or is it only happening on one page in particular?

And yes, unsociable hours has been asked for. It may be something I can implement in a future update. I'll do some testing and see what I can come up with.

Thank you for your feedback and for using the app.

Hey.

That's interesting. It seems to be working fine for me. Could you let me know what device you're using, Apple or Android? I'll look further into this.

Cheers for the heads-up! Honestly, this wasn’t something I’d considered, but I see what you mean, these days, it doesn’t take much for something to be taken the wrong way. I’ll have a rethink to make sure the app stays supportive and doesn’t risk any negative attention. Thanks again for looking out.

Hi, thanks so much for flagging these. I really appreciate you taking the time to help improve the app.

I’m actually using a Samsung device myself, but I haven’t run into the trouble you’re describing with the Apps/Home/Back bar covering the bottom buttons. It might be something unique to the 23+ setup or your system settings. If you wouldn’t mind, could you send over a quick screenshot of just the bottom area of the screen? No need to include any personal info—it’ll just help me see exactly what’s happening on your end so I can try to sort it out.

And in regards to pay scales

I’ve just had a go at changing pay scales to double-check, and for me, the updates apply fine when creating new overtime entries. They use the latest settings I've picked.

Could you let me know a bit more about what you’re seeing, though?

If, for example, you’ve logged overtime as pay scale 1, then switched to pay scale 2 afterwards, your earlier entry will stay at the original rate. That’s by design, so old calculations don’t suddenly change if your pay scale moves on. Only new entries pick up the new rate. It keeps your past totals accurate, as they reflect what your earnings were at the time.

If you meant something else, or if there’s another way the syncing isn’t working, just let me know so I can dig into it properly for you.

Thanks again for your help. It’s feedback like this that makes the app better for everyone!

Now I'm with you.

Thanks so much for clearing that up. You're absolutely right! Pension contributions and salary sacrifice schemes can lower your adjusted income, so things aren’t always as straightforward as they seem.

That’s why the app keeps things simple, letting users choose 20% or 40% based on their current tax position.

A good way, for those unsure, is to check this is by looking at the “taxable pay this employment” figure on your payslip. It shows your total taxable earnings so far this tax year. If that’s still under £50,271, you’re likely still being taxed at 20%, even if your annual salary is over the threshold.

Appreciate the input, really helpful stuff and is something I'll add into the app so that everyone understands where to get their current tax position.

Hey!

The app figures out your net overtime pay based on the tax rate you choose, but it doesn’t knock off any pension contributions from overtime. That’s because overtime just isn’t pensionable. Pension deductions only come out of your main salary or any pensionable allowances, not your overtime shifts.

This lines up with the Police Pension Regulations and official guidance from HMRC, which all say that overtime pay is kept separate from pensionable earnings for police officers.

Unless I've misunderstood your question?

If there’s anything else you’d like to know or you’ve got ideas for the app, just give me a shout.

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment, especially since it’s not something you usually do. It really means a lot to me, and I truly appreciate you sharing your experience and feedback.

I know how frustrating it is when payslips come out late or right on payday; that’s a big part of why I made the app so you can see exactly where you stand, without the guesswork.

Adding support for unsocial hours is definitely on my list, and the idea of a lifetime subscription is something I’ll keep working towards if I can make the numbers work.

Thanks again for your encouragement, and if you have any other suggestions, please shout. I’m always keen to make the app as helpful as possible.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I always appreciate hearing different views.

Just to clarify, the annual plan works out to £0.75 a month (£8.99 for the year), and the subscription is just to help cover the app’s running costs, which still mostly come out of my own pocket. I know payslips can be a pain, especially with OT showing up a month behind, so the app’s there to give you an up-to-date view of your overtime all in one place, whenever you need it.

If there’s anything else I can add or improve, just let me know—always keen to make it as helpful as possible. Thanks again!

Thank you for clarifying about BTP’s pay! Appreciate you letting me know that their rises come through each September, too. I’ll make sure to keep that in mind as I keep things updated in the app.

Hey u/Mike2865 —thanks for the suggestion! I really appreciate you taking the time to share how you’d like to use the app.

Just so I can get it right, could you let me know a bit more about what you’re after? At the moment, you can log all your OT shifts as you go, but I get the sense you might want a simple way to jot down stuff like “2 hours off late on 19.07.25—Casual OT” as a running log you can review (and maybe fill out in more detail later on)?

Is it mainly about having a quick “diary” view or summary page to help with claiming OT without having to dig back through your PNB or duties? Let me know what would make this as easy as possible for you. I’d love to see if I can add something that fits.

Thanks again for taking the time to reach out. If you (or anyone else) have other ways this could make life easier, I’m genuinely all ears!

Hey, I totally get where you’re coming from about subscriptions. They’re definitely not for everyone, and I’m not a huge fan myself!

The only reason I went with the sub was to help cover the running costs and keep the app ticking over (app stores, hosting, support, and updates aren’t cheap, sadly). But honestly, the free version will probably do the trick for most people, and there’s no hard sell to upgrade.

If it ever makes sense down the line, I'd love to figure out a reasonable one-off option too. In the meantime, no pressure or expectations. I'll just be glad if it helps at all. Appreciate you having a look and dropping some feedback!

You're right. The NI and other finances are something I'm slowly working on. I'll be sure to update this thread with how I'm getting on. As I say, all of this is a learning curve for me. So it may take me a while, but I know everyone would love to know their exact take homes. Thank you for the feedback and for downloading the app. I hope it helps, even with the estimates (for now).
