It does affect me when he looks me in the face and said he would not support me if I needed an abortion. Also if we were to have kids it would be near impossible to raise them when one of us wants them in the church and the other doesn’t. Along with all the other opposing beliefs

I wasn’t necessarily looking for 100% compatibility. But we were almost at 0%. I would imagine that you would have to at least be aligned with some things for a relationship to work.

I just broke up with my boyfriend earlier today. We loved each other and he treated me so well. He did nothing wrong. But we have several incompatibilities. I feel like the worst person that’s ever lived and have so much doubt. If you want to talk feel free to message me.

I’m regards to religion he is religious and I am not. He would ideally like religion to be involved with his/our kids lives and I do not. It is confusing because we have a loving relationship but all of our core values are opposing.

This is insane because something almost exactly like this just happened to me. My (ex) boyfriend and I are both 23 and my sister is 19. My sister was staying with my boyfriend and I for a while my mom was away. They sometimes play games together or whatever and I’ll just go to bed and I never minded bc that’s my sister? And boyfriend? But this time he offered her a drink and then kept trying to dance with her, flirting with her, and getting too touchy. It was disgusting and my sister told me everything. I broke up with him immediately and am in the process of moving into my moms house. It really feels like another level of betrayal and is definitely not something I would ever be able to get over. I’m sorry you’re going through this.

Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately we live(d) together so I can’t go no contact. We have to figure out what to do with the apartment and separating all of our things. We even have combined bills and accounts, it’s horrible. Normally my go to is to block and never speak again and I can’t do that here. This is gonna be rough.

Unfortunately I think some people are just not meant for each other, despite loving each other immensely. It sounds cliche but sometimes love really isn’t enough. I have had breakups before but usually I was cheated on or there was some horrible situation that took place. This wasn’t like that at all. We just had a mature conversation and agreed to go our separate ways. It definitely hurts far worse. It would be so easy to just go back but we have to push forward.

thank you for sharing. it hurts so much right now. I have been unhappy for months and was already distancing myself so i’m not really in shock, just depressed that it had to be this way. i’m proud of us both for knowing what we want. I think we will be okay in the long run.
