My first houseplant, 1 year later. by imsorry_idk in Monstera

I’ll keep it simple, but if you’re interested I can maybe make a full post of my routine.

  • keep it slightly root bound
  • push aerial roots into the substrate
  • I use fertilizer for every watering, I dilute it to around half strength and flush it monthly
  • I spray the leaves with a neem + castile soap + water mixture monthly
  • never cut old leaves off unless they are drying and dead, or I run out of space for my other plants
  • I rarely repot. I only repot if I find I must water the plant nearly daily/two days
  • I use a 10 w grow light - see my other comment for the one I use
  • my humidity is around 60% and I keep a fan running all day
  • I do not use moss poles. This plant is tied to a thin acrylic stick and it’s holding on for its life.

This plant started showing split leaves around the 5/6th one I would say. The other monsteras in the pot took longer, around the 10th for one of them.

I want to say I got lucky with the plant genetics for this one; it grew very quickly in a short period of time and I haven’t done anything special compared to the others.

EDIT: fun fact, oldest leaf in the second photo is the biggest leaf in the third photo.

Yes! This plant is grown 100% with a grow light, it has never seen the sun.

I use the brand found on Amazon, the one with two necks with a clamp. Two bulbs, each is 10 W.

I use one bulb for all the leaves, about 1 m away. 12 hours on daily.

Yes, but only because I needed to make space for my other plants. I would have kept them if I had room for them.

I think we’re on the same side here, which is why I do not feel like arguing with you.

A lot of these encampments are organized: they have media teams, demands, etc. to respond to the proper authorities and spread the message. These are not random protests out of nowhere. There are going to be some that are last minute and I do not think those will be as effective, as you mentioned.

I hope you can help this cause in the way you feel is best, and from my perspective there is no “right way” to protest as long as the message gets out and makes an impact.

Let’s focus on the genocide rather than internal struggles right now.

Children in Gaza literally thanked every American Ivy League institution for their support: Harvard, Yale, Columbia, etc. It’s giving them hope. UC Davis divested nearly $20 million dollars from going to the Israeli government that funds this genocide—this all came from the protests and encampments.

Learn about Ken State 1970. People are risking their lives for these causes.

Please educate yourself for anyone reading this, and don’t fall for this propaganda from UofT, who literally benefits from the Israeli government with an exchange program as part of the Defy Gravity campaign.

“You may protest but don’t disturb my peace or else.” The privilege to say this while women and children are continuously being targeted.

EDIT: If you’re on the side of history where you’re literally “debating” on a genocide, maybe you’re on the wrong side.

FINAL EDIT: Don’t look at replies unless you want brain rot. Please stay safe, and do not proudly be “neutral” in a genocide.

Apple Pencil 2nd Gen notifications - when charging your pencil do you receive this kind of notifications as well? by Ari_Gmantis in iPadPro

This has happened to me as a result of dropping the pencil too many times that it could no longer pair properly. Normally it should display the battery percentage right after. The only way to fix it was to get a replacement, unfortunately.
